SERRANIA DEL NUDO, RUTA DEL BOSQUE Y EL PAISAJE PARA LLEGAR A MARSELLA RISARALDA, UN REAL MUNICIPIO VERDE Por:

Nature Trips Colombia www.naturetrips.co Risaralda es un departamento de grandes riquezas ambientales y paisajsticas, en el que una importante parte de su territorio se encuentra bajo alguna categora de conservacin como rea protegida, donde su principal objetivo es garantizar el suministro de agua en cantidad y calidad para el consumo humano, conservar la diversidad biolgica del departamento, as como promover la reconversin ambiental de los sistemas productivos en dichas reas y en su zona de influencia directa. La serrana del nudo rene dos de ests reas protegidas, el Parque Regional Natural Alto del Nudo y el rea forestal protectora La Nona, sumando entre las dos, cerca de 3200 hectreas para la proteccin del agua, los ecosistemas y la vida. Son ms de 30 aos desde cuando en Marsella, jvenes inquietos, reconocieron la importancia de los bosques de montaa como reguladores del recurso hdrico, puesto que a mediados de los aos 70s ya se evidenciaba como la deforestacin afectaba los ros y quebradas que abastecan los principales acueductos. La historia de este viaje por la Serrana del Nudo, busca el encuentro directo con los bosques que renacen en el corazn del paisaje cultural cafetero, en una formacin montaosa que se extiende desde la cordillera central hasta la orilla del ro cauca, entre las cuencas de los ros Otn y San Francisco. Una montaa que se eleva a ms de 2100 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la cual sin duda es el referente visual para cualquier persona que se encuentre en Pereira, Santa Rosa, Marsella o Dosquebradas. La restauracin de estos bosques se da inicialmente gracias al espritu cvico de los marselleses, quienes durante aos han realizado diferentes actividades por medio de las cuales adquieren los primeros predios, en donde se llevaron a cabos labores de reforestacin y proteccin de las micro cuencas la Nona, el Man y el Zurrumbo. Ya a mediados de los aos 90, con participacin de la Carder, la Asamblea Departamental de Risaralda y los municipios de Santa Rosa, Marsella, Pereira y Dosquebradas se crea el parque regional natural alto del nudo., consolidando as la proteccin de ecosistemas estratgicos de donde se abastecen las bocatomas de acueductos veredales y municipales. Ascender a esta montaa, es encontrarse con las nubes, pues la serrana tiene una marcada tendencia de dominancia climtica hmeda. En el camino, fincas ganaderas, cultivos de caf, pan coger y bosques secundarios, conducen al visitante hasta llegar al centro de visitantes del parque, a casi 2000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, la vista es imponente. Desde all inicia la caminata hacia el mirador de las hortensias a 2100 metros, un lugar con cerca de 270 de rango visual, desde donde se contempla el piedemonte del Quindo, el Parque Nacional Natural de los Nevados, as como las ciudades de Pereira, Dosquebradas, Santa Rosa y Manizales. La briza es una muestra de cmo la serrana se convierte en una barrera natural, donde se encuentran los vientos que vienen de las cordilleras central y occidental, lo que da al sitio en recuperacin la calidad de Bosque

Hmedo Tropical, ecosistema difcil de hallar en otros lugares del Paisaje Cultural Cafetero. Durante la corta caminata, puede observarse la forma como se restaura el bosque nativo, con rboles originarios de la regin. Al bajar del mirador, las sorpresas continan, pues la ruta toma rumbo norte, entre veredas cafeteras, observando el valle del ro San Francisco. El paisaje cambia, pues se ingresa al corazn mismo de la montaa. Se cruzan las veredas la Argentina, Sina, Miracampo, San Andrs y el Rayo, para iniciar el descenso hacia el rea poblada de Marsella, un municipio fundado por colonos antioqueos en 1860, quienes encontraron que aquellos suelos de origen volcnico eran tan frtiles que all podran surgir y prosperar. Hoy, el pueblo es una joya de la conservacin arquitectnica y cultural. En estas tierras, es posible observar el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero, rodeado de verdes montaas que esconden hermosas edificaciones de la poca de la colonizacin antioquea, como la casa de la cultura, en cuyo interior se resguarda el pasado, se construye el presente y se forja el futuro de las nuevas generaciones. Recorres sus calles, disfrutar de su agradable clima, la amabilidad de su gente y el sabor de sus comidas, hacen posible una experiencia autentica e inolvidable. El da, termina lleno de color, entre cultivos de follajes de exportacin para la elaboracin arreglos florales y el fresco aroma del campo. Al final del da, observando al sol ocultarse tras la cordillera occidental, se habr recorrido una ruta que acompaa al agua que se produce en la parte alta de la montaa, siendo testigos de la riqueza que genera proteger estos bosques, sus quebradas y ros, gracias a los cuales es posible que exista la actividad cafetera, motor del desarrollo de los pueblos que rodean a la serrana del nudo durante ms de 150 aos y razn para ser hoy patrimonio inmaterial de la humanidad.
