 Pengertian difteri
Difteri adalah suatu penyakit infeksi akut yang menyerang
saluran pencernaan bagian atas dengan masa inkubasi antara
2 sampai 7 hari. Basilnya dapat hidup dan berkembang biak
pada saluran pernafasan atas, maka dapat menimbulkan
terjadinya radang dengan terbentuknya pseudomembran local.
Bila tidak mendapat pengobatan maka akan menyebar ke
seluruh saluran pernafasan atas yang akhirnya menyebabkan
tersumbatnya jalan nafas atau obstruksi Secara umum dikenal
3 tipe utama C.
