HISTORIA
Los primeros asentamientos humanos en Colima
datan del siglo XV antes de Cristo.
A la llegada de los españoles, la región estaba
dominada por los tecos o colimecas que
habitaban el
reino de Colliman. Su capital se denominaba
Caxitlán y estaba situada en el Valle de
Tecomán.
DATO CURIOSO
Colima desde su fundación fue alcaldía mayor, dependiente en lo judicial de la Real audiencia de Nueva
España y en lo religioso del obispado de Valladolid.
HISTORY
The first human settlements in Colima date from
the fifteenth century BC.
At the arrival of the Spaniards, the region was
dominated by the Tecos or Colimecas who
inhabited the
Kingdom of Colliman. Its capital was called
Caxitlán and was located in the Tecomán Valley.

ESCUDO
Al centro del escudo, con fondo de color
plateado, figura un jeroglífico precolombino en
forma de
brazo que representa vocablos de origen
náhuatl. El color plateado simboliza las aguas
que conforman
el estado, al igual que la fe, pureza e integridad
de sus habitantes. El jeroglífico significa la
autoridad y
el poder del hombre, lo que representa la fuerza
de los colimenses para mejorar sus condiciones
de vida.
SHIELD
In the center of the shield, with a silver

La comida de
colimas es:
La cocina de Colima es muy variada (carne,
pescado, marisco, verduras, etc.) y hay platillos y
productos que son muy característicos de su
gastronomía. Los sopitos colimenses originarios de
Villa de Álvarez Colima, son tortillas pequeñas de
masa con carne molida y salsa de tomate servidas
con col rallado, cebolla, rábanos rebanados y queso
fresco.
