Ritos, cbalas y tradiciones para esperar el Ao Nuevo

Hay para todos los gustos: los que se ponen ropa interior amarilla y suben y bajan escaleras; los que se aferran a una maleta y comen uvas o lentejas. Tradiciones y cbalas para celebrar el nuevo ao han existido en todas las culturas y tiempos y aqu te las contamos.

Ropa interior al revs o amarilla? Uvas, corvina o lentejas? Hay cbalas para todos los gustos y, aunque muchos digan que es una tontera, llegadas las 12, ms de alguien salta con el pie derecho, aparece con maletas o se pone a subir y bajar escaleras como loco. La tradicin de Nochevieja y Ao Nuevo es casi tan antigua como la humanidad, pero cambia de fechas y modo de celebrarla de acuerdo a los diferentes tiempos y culturas. Lo que siempre se mantiene intacto es el espritu de celebracin de los hombres y la esperanza de que el prximo ao ser mejor. Desde la antigedad La celebracin del Ao Nuevo es una de las ms antiguas y universales de las festividades. Pero fue el emperador Julio Csar el que cambi la fecha al primero de enero, primer da del mes dedicado al Dios Jano. Esto fue confirmado en las adaptaciones que hizo el Papa Gregorio XIII, y es el calendario que rige en nuestros das. La primera celebracin del Ao Nuevo en Chile ocurri en 1671, cuando los Jesutas levantaron una campana en lo alto de la Iglesia de la Compaa, que a la medianoche comenz a anunciar el ciclo naciente. En Santiago, celebrar el fin de ao era una oportunidad para que, al igual que en la Navidad, las familias de diferentes clases sociales compartieran y lucieran los trajes adquiridos especialmente para la ocasin. Uno de los puntos de reunin era la Alameda de las Delicias, lugar en el que se realizaban fondas que comenzaban en Navidad y duraban hasta enero. Estas ramadas ocupaban todo el sector de la Estacin Central y por la noche se senta un fuerte olor a plvora por la gran cantidad de fuegos artificiales que se disparaban. "Las doce" eran marcadas por el caonazo en el Cerro Santa Luca y por las campanas de las iglesias. Algunas cbalas de ao nuevo La noche que nos traspasa al siguiente ao est llena de cbalas y supersticiones que tienen que ver con buenos augurios para el ao que comienza. En Chile, la mayora de las supersticiones que se llevan a la prctica la noche del 31 de diciembre fueron introducidas por los colonizadores espaoles y se arraigaron con ms fuerza en la ciudad que en los sectores rurales. Las cbalas que ms se realizan son:

- La tradicin de las 12 uvas: en el sitio que ocupa cada comensal se coloca previamente un pequeo frutero con 12 uvas y, de acuerdo con el ritual, se debe comer una uva por cada una de las 12 campanadas del reloj. Mejor an es dar la vuelta a la manzana arrastrando las maletas. - Usar ropa interior amarilla la noche de fin de ao, para asegurar felicidad y buenos momentos. Mejor usarla por el revs y cambiarla al

derecho despues de medianoche.
