Do you think that Chilean people should work less than eight hours a day? Why?

No sé si ocho horas es mucho tiempo o muy poco, depende en general de cuanto a uno le apasione su
trabajo. Si, yo pienso que en lo posible es mejor acortar las jornadas laborales en menos horas por día y
trabajar con mayor Eficiencia. Pero también creo que es más importante enfocar el trabajo en metas y
objetivos, que en trabajo diario.

En mi experiencia con el trabajo, yo veía desde pequeño a mis padres ir a trabajar y volver a mi casa
tarde. Ellos nunca se quejaban de su trabajo. Luego comprendí que les gustaba mucho, ambos son
biólogos marinos, mi mama especializada en algas y mi papa estaba especializado en moluscos, el murió.

La gente que se queja de su trabajo también la comprendo, no todos reciben un sueldo equitativo o
trabajan en lo que quieren.

Do you think that Chilean people should work less than eight hours a day? Why?

I'm not sure if working for eight hours is too long or too short; it depends on how much
someone likes their job. Yes, I think it's best to work fewer hours each day and do the job more
efficiency. But it's also important to focus on goals than on number of hours.

In my experience with work, I saw my parents going to work and coming home late since I was
little. They never complained about their jobs. Later, I understood that they really liked it. Both of
them are marine biologists; my mom specializes in algae, and my dad specializes in mollusks. I
also understand people who complain about their jobs. Not everyone receives a fair salary or
works in what they want.

● Have you ever had to work/study overtime? How did you cope?

Si en varias ocasiones, la que mas recuerdo por lo detallista, complicado y largo trabajo, fue una tarea de
dibujo mecánico, un ramo de ingeniería mecánica. Debía realizar 6 planos de 6 piezas en un formato
especifico, para que se hagan una idea una hoja del tamaño de la mesa.

Los planos los debía realizar con lápiz, papel y regla. Tuve que dibujar todas las vistas de la pieza a mano
y además una vista isométrica (3D) de cada pieza. Como estudiante nuevo y ingenuo deje los 6 planos
para hacerlos el día antes de la entrega.

Ese día no dormí, estuve toda la noche haciendo los planos y dibujando piezas. Termine justo en la
mañana, me duche y fui a clases a entregar los planos. Creo que ha sido de las peores experiencias de mi
vida, no me acuerdo bien como habrán quedado esos planos, pero no creo que de lo mejor que he
hecho.

El siguiente semestre lo empezaron a realizar en PC con un software de diseño

● Have you ever had to work/study overtime? How did you cope?

On several occasions, I remember someone for complicated, hard, and extensive, It was an
assignment in mechanical drawing, a subject in mechanical engineering. I had to create 6
mechanical drawings of 6 pieces in a specific format, just to give you an idea, the paper was the
size of the table.

I had to mechanical drawings with pencil, paper, and ruler. I had to hand-draw all the views of
pieces and an isometric view (3D). In this moment I was a new student, I left mechanical
drawings to be done the day before the deadline.

That night, I didn't sleep. I spent all the night making the drawing of the parts. I finished just in
the morning, take a shower, and went to class to turn in the mechanical drawings. I think it was
one of the worst experiences of my life. I don't remember well how those mechanical drawings
turned out, but I don't think they were the best work I've done.

The following semester, they started doing it on the computer with design software.

● What would your life be like if you decided to work in a first world country?

Pienso que cambiaría mucho mi vida, tendría que hacer nuevos amigos, enfrentar una cultura diferente,
entre otros desafíos. No tengo miedo de irme a otro país, la verdad siempre he tenido ganas. Soy de
Puerto Varas y me encuentro estudiando en Santiago hace ya algunos años, no es una ciudad que me
encante, siento que para mi es una ciudad de paso. Por lo que no tendría complicaciones en mudarme a
otra ciudad.

Pienso que aprendería mucho de la cultura de trabajo de los países del primer mundo y como hacen las
cosas, me serviría para luego volver y hacer mi propio emprendimiento con los conocimientos
aprendidos. Ya que mi metapor ahora es volver algún día a Puerto Varas y emprender una empresa.

● What would your life be like if you decided to work in a first world country?

I think it would change my life a lot. I would have to make new friends, face a different culture,
among other challenges. I'm not afraid to move to another country, to be honest, I've always
wanted to. I'm from Puerto Varas and I've been studying in Santiago for 6 years It's not a city
that I love; I feel like it's just a transitional city for me. So, I wouldn't have any problems moving
to another city.

I believe I would learn a lot from the work culture in first-world countries and how they do
things. It would help me to come back someday to Puerto Varas and start my own business.
Because my goal for now is to return to Puerto Varas one day and start a company.

● Do you like shopping online? Why?

No soy realmente fanático, de hecho, ni siquiera soy fanático de salir de compras. Tengo la experiencia
de cuando pequeño salir de compras con mi mamá y mi hermana, estábamos mañanas enteras
paseando por las tiendas, lo uno que hacíamos era hacer colas para probarse ropa y otras para pagar, lo
que era aburrido para mí.

Pienso que las compras online una forma sencilla de ver gran variedad de productos y además encontrar
justo lo que buscas. Lo que no es tan agradable es que al estar viendo productos nuevos no sabes si la
talla te quedara bien y la calidad del material. También puede suceder que pueda ser una estafa y te
envíen por ejemplo una piedra.

Me gusta comprar productos específicos que necesito y en páginas que me den seguridad en la compra.
Lo que es sagrado es ver productos los días de super descuento (black-Friday).

● Do you like shopping online? Why?

I'm not really a fanatic, in fact, I'm not even a fan of going shopping. I have the experience from
when I was little of going shopping with my mom and sister; we would spend entire mornings
strolling through the stores. The only thing we did was stand in lines to try on clothes and others
to pay, which was boring for me.

I think online shopping is a simple way to see a wide variety of products and also find exactly
what you're looking for. It can also happen that it might be a scam and they send you, for
example, a stone.

I like to buy specific products that I need and from websites that give me security in the
purchase. What's essential is to see products on super discount days (like Black Friday).

● What major challenges have you encountered while shopping online?

Lo que me desafía al querer comprar un artículo por internet es tener el medio de pago adecuado y el
envío. Me pasa que a veces encuentro el artículo perfecto, en mi talla y a un precio adecuado entonces a
la hora del pago, no aceptan tarjetas visa, sino que debe ser Mastercard o es a través de una plataforma
de pago especial. Es horrible. Me he creado muchas tarjetas y billeteras electrónicas.

También me ocurre que la página en donde encuentro el articulo no tienen envío a mi casa, a veces ni
siquiera a Chile. A veces veo de donde es el sitio web y me aparece Pakistán o Estonia y pienso que
tampoco me quería comprar tanto el artículo.

No tengo grandes dificultades al comprar por internet, tengo facilidad para hacerlo rápido. Siento que en
mi caso y quizás para mi generación el tener internet desde niño nos ha enseñado a compras por
internet.

● What major challenges have you encountered while shopping online?

It’s having the right payment method and shipping. Sometimes I find the perfect item, in my size and at
the right price, but when it comes to payment, they don't accept Visa cards, only Mastercard, or it must
be through a special payment platform. It's horrible. I've created many cards and e-wallets.

Another problem is when the website where I find the item doesn't offer shipping to my house,
sometimes not even to Chile. Sometimes I see where the website is from and it shows Pakistan or
Estonia, and I think maybe I didn't want to buy.

I don't have major difficulties when buying online; I find it easy to do quickly. I feel that in my case, and
peoples for my generation, having internet since childhood has taught us how to shop online.

● If you had an online store and made a mistake, what kind of compensation would you give your
clients?

Pienso que les daría una compensación buena, siento que el cliente que compra por internet es más
exigente al momento de recibir una compensación de algún reclamo.

Una compensación buena significa darle el producto que compro con las características exactas que las
vio al meterse en mi sitio web. Eso quiere decir de faltarle puedas al producto se las deberé enviar, de
estar en más estado el producto cambiarlo.

Pienso en que, si tendré un sitio web de ventas, que ya me está gustando la idea, debe ser honesto y
transparente con los productos y su calidad.

● If you had an online store and made a mistake, what kind of compensation would you give your
clients?

I think I would offer them good compensation. I feel that customers who buy online are more
demanding when it comes to receiving compensation for any complaints.

Good compensation means providing the product that the customer bought with the exact
characteristics they saw when they visited my website. This means that if the product is missing parts, I
should send them, or if the product is in poor condition, I should replace it.
EDUCATION 1

● Should education be free or charge? Why? Why not?

Pienso que la educación debería ser gratis porque es una forma en que nosotros aprendemos
herramientas para desarrollar habilidades y no pienso que deberíamos pagar por ello.

Un problema que pienso que existe en Chile y ya lleva un tiempo. Sin contar que solo con la educación
pública no se podría educar a todos los estudiantes de Chile. Es que la de la educación gratis es mala
calidad. En profesores, herramientas y espacios.

En mi caso fue un poco así, fui a un colegio católico porque mi mamá era católica. No era un colegio
barato pero mi mamá y papá trabajaban para juntar el dinero ya que era una buena educación, para mi y
mis hermanos. Tengo 8 hermanos, mis papas debían juntar mucho dinero.

● Should education be free or charge? Why? Why not?

I believe education should be free because it's a way for us to acquire tools to develop skills, and I don't
think we should have to pay for it. One problem I see in Chile, which has been present for a long time, is
that public education alone wouldn't be sufficient to educate all students in the country. The issue lies in
the fact that free education often lacks quality in terms of teachers, resources, and facilities.

In my case, it was a bit like that. I attended a Catholic school because my mom was Catholic. It wasn't a
cheap school, but my parents worked hard to save money because they believed it provided a good
education for me and my siblings. I have 8 siblings, so my parents had to save a lot of money

● Has education in Chile improved or gotten worse in the last twenty years?

Soy optimista pienso que la educación ha mejorado en los últimos 20 o 30 años.

Comparando la educación recibida por mi con la de padres. Ellos dicen que antes era más difícil ser
profesional que ahora y es real. Ahora la cantidad de gente profesional es mucho mayor que hace 20 o
30 años. Eso me trae alegría.

● Has education in Chile improved or gotten worse in the last twenty years?

I'm optimistic, I think education has improved in the last 20 or 30 years.

Comparing the education I received with that of my parents, they say it was harder to become a
professional before, and that's true. Now, the number of professionals is much higher than 20 or
30 years ago. That makes me happy

● If you were the minister of education what changes would you make to public education?

En mi vida he hecho cosas importantes, pero no sabia que me consideraban para ser ministro. Podría
cambiar los horarios de clases, intentaría que las clases terminen más temprano.

También fomentaría escuelas de deporte y artes, proyectos científicos, todo que se desarrolle en la
tarde.. Siento que la educación va de la mano con hacer actividades que te despierten el interés.
Entretenerse.

● If you were the minister of education what changes would you make to public education?

In my life, I have done important things, but I never thought they would consider me to be a
minister. If I were one, I would change the class schedules so that they end earlier.

I would also establish more sports and arts schools, and promote scientific projects that take
place in the afternoons. I believe education should include fun activities that engage students'
interest.

● Do you think goverments should to spend some money to help foundations such as Teletón?

Pienso que el gastar dinero apoyando fundaciones es bueno. Las ayuda a crecer y poder mostrar lo que
hacen y que puedan ser conocidas más personas.

El dinero lamentablemente es necesario para hacer esto, que exista un financiamiento básico del
gobierno es util. Además que pienso que da una cercanía entre las personas y el gobierno

Las fundaciones en general siento que son un tema sensible. Generalmente las personas ven dinero
perdido y no la ayuda a la persona. Por eso me gusta que existan fundaciones que funcionen

Ahora Teletón pienso que es un ejemplo maravilloso de fundación, no se si es por don francisco pero
siento que funciona perfecto pero es viendo todo desde afuera realmente. (No conozco a nadie que esté
en Teletón)

● Do you think goverments should to spend some money to help foundations such as Teletón?

Spending money to support foundations is a good thing. It helps them grow and show their
work to more people. Sadly, money is needed for this, so having some government funding is
helpful. Also, it brings people and the government closer.

Foundations are a touchy subject. Some people see money spent on them as wasted, not
realizing it helps others. That's why I like foundations that actually work. Teletón, for example,
seems to work well, though I'm not sure if it's because of Don Francisco. I've only seen it from
the outside and don't know anyone involved personally.

● Have you ever thought about how your life would be after finishing your study program?

Me imagino trabajando en cualquier cosa, idealmente haciendo planos de plantas, de piezas, de

ensambles. O también trabajo como operario para alguna empresa.

Quiero trabajar siento que con trabajo se hacen las cosas y me gusta ver el resultado del trabajado.
Tanto el dinero como el resultado materializado es satisfactorio.

Si tuviera la oportunidad de viajar y ayudar a personas también lo haría, siento que es súper lindo. Lleno
de emociones de todo tipo. He leído lindas historias del tema.

● Have you ever thought about how your life would be after finishing your study program?

I can imagine myself working in anything, ideally creating mechanical drawings for plants, parts, or
assemblies. Or maybe working as an operator for a company. I want to work because I feel that things
get done with work, and I enjoy seeing the tangible results of my efforts. Both the money and the
materialized results are satisfying.

If I had the opportunity to travel and help people, I would do it as well. I feel it would be incredibly
rewarding, filled with emotions of all kinds. I've read some beautiful stories on the subject

● If you had a time machine and you could travel to the past, would you change anything?

De mi vida no tocaría nada, he tenido mucha suerte el llegar hasta aquí. No quiero cometer un error y
quizás volver al presente y ser un drogadicto más de Quellón. Siento que todo pasa por algo y tiene
sentido.

Quizás viajaría al pasado a ver un partido de basquetbol, cuando puerto varas gano la copa Chile o un
partido de MJ por Chicago Bulls o ver cuando Boston salió campeón 5 años consecutivos en los 60.
También me gustaría ver el mundo antiguo, los celtas o el pueblo mapuche. La historia es algo
interesante y conocerla mejor siento que nos ayuda a entender mejor el presente.

● If you had a time machine and you could travel to the past, would you change anything?

I wouldn't change anything about my life; I've been very lucky to get to where I am. I don't want to make
a mistake and potentially end up as just another drug addict in Quellón. I feel that everything happens
for a reason and has its meaning.

Perhaps I would travel back in time to witness a basketball game, like when Puerto Varas won the
Chilean Cup, or a game with Michael Jordan playing for the Chicago Bulls, or to see when Boston became
champions five years in a row in the 1960s. I would also like to explore the ancient world, to learn about
the Celts or the Mapuche people. History is something fascinating, and I believe that understanding it
better helps us understand the present
MONEY

● How would you classify Chilean people, as savers or spenders? Why?

Yo clasificaría a la gente de Chile como que les gusta la buena vida, siento que les gusta gastar dinero.
Cuando juega la selección todos nos juntamos a beber una cerveza o comer algo, nos gusta pasarlo bien.

Quizás en esta facultad las personas son mas ahorradores por el nivel educativo, pero en chile las
personas gastan en general mas de lo que tienen. Piden créditos y se endeudan.

● How would you classify Chilean people, as savers or spenders? Why?

"I classify Chilean people likes people who enjoy the good life; I feel they like to spend money.
When the national team plays, we all get together to have a beer or eat something, we like to
have a good time.

People in this faculty, are more savers because they have a high level of education, but in Chile,
people generally spend more than they have. They take out loans and get into debt.

● Have you ever invested your money in business? If not, would you like to do it? Why? Why not?

Si invierto en bitcoin, tengo distintas inversiones en bitcoin. La semana pasada gane 60 dolares en el
comercio de cryptos. Descubrí una moneda nueva COCOA, es una joya (Su valor incrementa todas las
semanas).

El bitcoin son monedas virtuales que entre mas gente las quiera y las compren más aumenta su valor.

También invierto en empresas como CCU y mercadolibre mediante una pagina web. Aprendí hace algún
tiempo que si tienes dinero guardado, es mejor tenerlo invertido o en otras palabras “trabajando”.

No tengo mucho dinero ahorrado pero el que tengo lo intento inverit. No me da miedo perder todo,
intento estudiar las cosas en que invierto plata leyendo noticias, escuchando podcast.

● Have you ever invested your money in business? If not, would you like to do it? Why? Why not?

If I invest in Bitcoin, I have various investments in Bitcoin. Last week, I earned $60 in crypto trading. I
discovered a new currency, COCOA, which is a gem (its value increases every week). Bitcoin is virtual
currency that increases in value the more people want and buy it.

I also invest in companies like CCU and MercadoLibre through a website. I learned some time ago that if
you have money saved, it's better to have it invested, or in other words, 'working.'

I don't have much money saved, but I try to invest what I have. I'm not afraid of losing everything; I try to
study the things I invest in by reading news and listening to podcasts

● If you were a millionaire, what would you do with your money? Would you save or spend it? Would
you work or set up your own company?
