Cambio a Residente Temporal por Vínculo Familiar

Applicable to the foreign person holding the status of visitor or temporary resident student who
wishes to reside in national territory and who proves a relationship with a Mexican or foreign
person.
Aplicable a la persona extranjera titular de la condición de estancia de visitante o de residente
temporal estudiante que desea residir en territorio nacional y que acredita vínculo con mexicano
o persona extranjera.

father or whoever exercises parental authority, guardianship or curatorship.

The documents (applications) for the procedures must be submitted in original only, and their
annexes, in copy. If the interested party requires an acknowledgement of receipt, she/he must
attach a copy for that purpose. (Article 15 A section I of the Administrative Procedure Federal Act).
Los trámites deberán presentarse solamente en original, y sus anexos, en copia simple. Si el
interesado requiere que se le acuse recibo, deberá adjuntar una copia para ese efecto. (Artículo 15

obtain the immigration status of which you are the holder. Original and copy.

4. Current official identification of the Mexican (passport, IFE/NE, professional license,

military service card, consular registration, naturalization letter or Mexican birth
certificate and valid driver's license) or valid temporary residence or permanent resident
card. Original and copy.

cartilla del servicio militar, matrícula consular, carta de naturalización o certificado de
nacimiento mexicano y licencia de conducir vigente) o tarjeta de residencia permanente

a) Being the father or mother of a foreign person with temporary residence or

temporary resident student: Birth certificate of the temporary resident or
temporary resident student. Original and copy.
a) Ser padre o madre de persona extranjera con residencia temporal o residente
temporal estudiante: Acta de nacimiento del residente temporal o residente
temporal estudiante. Original y copia.

b) Being the spouse of a Mexican, temporary resident, student temporary resident or

permanent resident: Marriage certificate. Original and copy.
b) Ser cónyuge de mexicano, de residente temporal, residente temporal estudiante
o residente permanente: Acta de matrimonio. Original y copia.

c) Being a common-law spouse of a Mexican or foreign person with temporary

residence, student temporary residence, or permanent residence: Document
proving common-law relationship in accordance with civil law or document
proving equivalent to common-law relationship granted by the competent
authority of the country of origin or residence of the foreign person, stating that
the interested party and the Mexican or temporary resident, temporary student or
permanent resident have lived in common constantly and permanently for the
corresponding period. Original and copy.
c) Ser concubinario o concubina de mexicano o persona extranjera con residencia
temporal, residencia temporal estudiantes o residencia permanente: Documento
que acredite concubinato de acuerdo con la legislación civil o documento que
acredite figura equivalente al concubinato otorgado por autoridad competente
del país de origen o residencia de la persona extranjera, en el que conste que el
interesado y el mexicano o residente temporal, residente temporal estudiante o
permanente han vivido en común de forma constante y permanente por el
período que corresponda. Original y copia.

 d) Being the son of a temporary resident foreigner or temporary resident student:
Birth certificate. As long as they are a girl, boy or adolescent and have not married,
or are under their guardianship, conservatorship or custody. Original and copy.
d) Ser hijo de persona extranjera residente temporal o residente temporal
estudiante: Acta de nacimiento. Siempre y cuando sea niña, niño o adolescente y
no haya contraído matrimonio, o bien, se encuentre bajo su tutela, curatela o
custodia. Original y copia.

e) Being the son of the spouse or common-law spouse of a temporary resident or

student temporary resident. As long as she is a girl, boy or adolescent and has not
been married, or is under guardianship, conservatorship or custody of the spouse
or common-law spouse:
e) Ser hijo del cónyuge o concubino de un residente temporal o residente temporal
estudiante. Siempre y cuando sea niña, niño o adolescente y no haya contraído
matrimonio, o bien, se encuentre bajo tutela, curatela o custodia del cónyuge o
concubino:

 Birth certificate of the minor and. Original and copy.

 Acta de nacimiento del menor y. Original y copia.

 Marriage certificate or the document that proves the concubinage of the

father or mother with the foreign person. Original and copy.
 Acta de matrimonio o el documento que acredite concubinato del padre o
madre con la persona extranjera. Original y copia.

f) Being a girl, boy or adolescent, whose parental authority, guardianship or

curatorship is in charge of a temporary resident foreigner or temporary resident 3
student: Document issued by the competent authority. Original and copy.
f) Ser niña, niño o adolescente, cuya patria potestad, tutela o curatela esté a cargo
de una persona extranjera residente temporal o residente temporal estudiante:
Documento emitido por autoridad competente. Original y copia.

6. Proof of payment of fees in the case of proving family relationship with a temporary
resident, it will be in accordance with the period of time the foreign national is
authorised to stay in the country. Original and copy.

 Foreign public documents, with the exception of the passport or identity and travel
document, must be apostilled or legalized and, where appropriate, accompanied by a
translation into Spanish prepared by officially recognized experts as appropriate.
 Los documentos públicos extranjeros, con excepción del pasaporte o documento de
identidad y viaje, deberán estar apostillados o legalizados y en su caso acompañados de
la traducción al español elaborados por peritos oficialmente reconocidos según
corresponda.

  The foreign person must appear personally before the immigration authority, to provide
the photograph, signature and fingerprint data for the basic format and, where
appropriate, for the issuance of the immigration document.
 La persona extranjera deberá presentarse personalmente ante la autoridad migratoria,
para proporcionar los datos de fotografía, firma y huellas para el formato básico y, en su
caso, para la expedición del documento migratorio.

 o Register the full names and surnames exactly as they appear in the document with
which the foreign national is identified in the Application (Regardless of the number of
names and surnames).
o Registrar exactamente los nombres y apellidos completos con los que se está
identificando la persona extranjera en la solicitud de trámite. (Sin importar la cantidad
de nombres y apellidos).

o In the case of minors, the payment must be registered with the names and surnames of
the minors.
o En caso de menores de edad, se deberá registrar el pago con los nombres y apellidos de
los menores.

It is suggested to review exhaustively the payment receipts issued by the banking institutions, so
that there is no error in the person's identification data.
Se sugiere revisar exhaustivamente los recibos de pago que emitan las instituciones bancarias, a
fin de que no medie error en los datos de identificación de la persona.
