Birth and Youth:
Date: October 28, 1955
Location: Seattle, Washington, United States.

Bill Gates was born into a middle-class family in Seattle. From a young age, he
showed a great interest in technology and programming. At the age of 13, while
attending Lakeside School, he had his first contact with a computer. This
experience was a turning point in his life and sparked his passion for computing.

Microsoft Foundation:
Date: April 4, 1975

At 19, Gates co-founded Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen. The company started out in a
small garage and quickly became one of the biggest players in the technology industry. Microsoft
pioneered the development of software for personal computers and soon released MS-DOS, the
operating system that became the industry standard in the 1980s.

Windows launch:
Date: November 20, 1985

The release of Windows 1.0 marked a turning point in the history of Microsoft and computing in
general. Windows introduced a graphical user interface, which allowed users to interact with the
computer more intuitively. Over the years, Windows became the most widely used operating system
in the world, cementing Microsoft's dominant position in the market.

Antitrust Fight:
Date: May 21, 1998

The United States Department of Justice and 20 states filed an antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft,
alleging anticompetitive business practices. The case centered on the integration of Internet Explorer
with Windows, which made it difficult to access other web browsers. Microsoft faced a lengthy legal
process, but was eventually forced to make changes to its business practices.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation:


Date: January 1, 2000

Bill Gates and his wife Melinda founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with the goal of
improving education and health in disadvantaged communities around the world. The foundation
became one of the largest and most active philanthropic organizations in the world, working on
programs to fight disease, improve education, and reduce poverty.

Microsoft Withdrawal:
Date: June 27, 2008
Bill Gates announced his full-time retirement from Microsoft to focus on his philanthropic work with
the Gates Foundation. However, he continued to be president of the company and adviser on
strategic issues.

Polio vaccination:
Date: January 13, 2011

The Gates Foundation has pledged to donate $1.8 billion to the Global Initiative to Eradicate Polio.
Thanks to the efforts of the foundation and other organizations, significant progress has been made
in eradicating polio in many parts of the world.

Disclosure of the "Giving Pledge" initiative:

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett launched the "Giving Pledge," an initiative that encourages billionaires
to donate the majority of their wealth to charity during their lifetime or in their wills. The initiative has
