1. Where can you find the white-winged guan?

The White-winged Guan is an endemic bird of Peru and lives in the ecoregion of the Equatorial Dry
Forest between 350 to 1,100 m. Formerly they could be found throughout the entire Peruvian dry
forest, but currently only specimens remain in remote forested areas. This area ranges from the
regions of Tumbes to La Libertad, entering through the Abra Porculla (the lowest part of the Andes
that enters the coast of Peru) to the valley of the Marañón River. The reduced habitat of the White
winged Guan encompasses a narrow (approximately 130 km long and 10 km wide) discontinuous
strip of dry forest that runs largely parallel to the Andes Mountains.
