◼ ES LA DISPOSICIÓN TRIDIMENCIONAL DE
LOS ÁTOMOS EN UNA MOLÉCULA

◼ La capa de valencia es la capa de electrones

más externa ocupada en un átomo, contiene
los electrones que generalmente están
implicados en un enlace.

electrónicos que rodean al átomo central en
términos de la repulsión electrostática entre

1- Al considerar la repulsión de los pares

electrónicos, los enlaces dobles y triples se
pueden tratar como si fueran enlaces sencillos.

2- Si una molécula tiene dos o más estructuras

resonantes, podemos aplicar el modelo
RPECV a cualquiera de ellas.

 Reglas para la aplicación del modelo RPECV

1- Escribir la estructura de Lewis de la molécula

2- Cuente el número de pares de electrones que rodean
al átomo central (pares enlazantes y pares libre). Los
enlaces dobles y triples se los considera como si
fueran enlaces sencillos.
3- Utilice la tablas de geometría para predecir la
geometría de las moléculas.
4- Para predecir los ángulos de enlace observe que un
par libre repele a otro par libre o a un par enlazante
con más fuerza de lo que un par enlazante repele a
otro para enlazante. Recuerde que no es sencillo
predecir los ángulos de enlace con exactitud cuando el
