Location: Bay 2, Module 640-01 / Bahía 2, Modulo 640-01

Type of Drill/Exercise: Loss of consciousness in Module 640-01, Bay 2 / Perdida de la conciencia de un trabajador
en el área de Módulo 640-01 en Bahía 2, atención inicial y traslado al servicio médico.

Drill Objective: Evaluate the performance and response time to the emergency and the actions of the
brigadees and Medical Service. / Evaluar el desempeño y el tiempo de respuesta a la
emergencia y las acciones de los brigadistas y servicio médico.

Specific Objectives: 1. Assess the response time of the ERT and the Medical Staff /
Evaluar el tiempo de respuesta del equipo de Brigadistas y del Personal Médico.
2. Monitor/assess the communication between ERT, Medical Staff and other involved
personnel /
Monitorear y evaluar la comunicación entre la brigada y el personal médico y otros
involucrados.
3. Evaluate the Medical Staff and ERT’s actions /
Evaluación de las acciones, conocimiento y destrezas del personal médico.

Scenario: 1. Assembly and modification of scaffolds activities are performed in Module 640-01 at
North side of Bay 2. /
Se realiza trabajos de armado y modificación de andamios en primer novel de Modulo
640-04 lado norte Bahía 2.
2. Worker loses consciousness due to heat stroke /
Trabajador pierde el conocimiento por golpe de calor.
4. Supervisor finds scaffolder laying on the floor and notifies to the HSE department. /
Supervisor encuentra al trabajador en el suelo desmayado y da aviso al departamento de
HSE.
5. HSE requests support from brigade members to the area of the event. /
HSE solicita el apoyo de los brigadistas al área del evento.
6. Brigade Lead requests support from medical service./
Coordinador de Brigadistas solicitara el apoyo al servicio médico. /
7. Medical Service evaluates and transfers the patient./

Summary / Resumen del simulacro

• The response time of the brigade team in the area was correct when arriving at the event site in 3 minutes giving immediate
notification to the medical service / El tiempo de respuesta del equipo de respuestas a emergencias médicas en el área fue correcto
al arribar al sitio del simulacro en 3 minutos y dar inmediata notificación al servicio médico.
• The evaluation from medical service during the response time was fulfilled in a timely manner since it took 4 minutes to arrive at
the site since they were notified. / La valoración en el tiempo de respuesta del servicio médico al sitio del simulacro se cumplió en
tiempo y forma ya que tardaron 4 minutos en arribar al sitio desde que fueron notificados.
• The patient is evaluated and packaged correctly and quickly. / Se evalúa y empaqueta al paciente de manera correcta y rápida.
• The communication was kept at all times and was constant between brigade team and the Commander of the brigade / La
comunicación se mantuvo en todo momento y fue constante entre brigadistas y el Comandante del incidente
• Effective communication between chains of command involved / Comunicación efectiva entre líneas de mando involucradas.
• Good use and dominance of medical equipment and rescue gear / Buen uso y manejo de equipo medico y de rescate.

Recommendations / Recomendaciones

• Communicate the emergency response plan to all Safety personnel (HSE Technicians) / Dar a conocer el plan de respuesta a
emergencias a todo el personal de seguridad (HSE Technicians)
• Conduct a demonstration of Ambulance´s equipment, as well as the handling of the stretcher cart with the safety technicians /
Realizar una demostración del equipo con el que cuenta la ambulancia, así como el manejo del carro camilla con los técnicos de
seguridad.
• Reinforce the anchoring of the harness with the participants, it was detected that they were anchored at the waist level during
the rescue operations./ Reforzar con el personal participante el anclaje del arnés, se detecta que durante operaciones de rescate
los puntos de anclaje eran a nivel de la cintura.
• Se recomienda la asignación de una unidad pick up, a disposición de HSE para casos de Emergencia. / The assignment of a pick up
unit is available, available to HSE for cases of Emergency.

• Se deberá aplicar más personal de apoyo para coordinar a la gente de operaciones y apoyo con personal brigadista de
otras disciplinas. / More support and involvement from brigades staff from other disciplines should be applied to
coordinate operations people and provide support on rescue exercises.
