los años siguientes.346 El dúo también es acreditado por la producción de canciones que se
consideran esenciales en el estilo french house.

El acrónimo "Daft", presente en su primer DVD, proviene de las iniciales de "A Story
about Dogs, Androids, Firemen and Tomatoes". Estas palabras reciben significado al dúo
musical por su primera canción «Da Funk» del año 1995 perteneciente al álbum
Homework, dónde aparece un perro antropomorfo como protagonista en el vídeo. Luego
"Androids" por la aparición de robots bailando en el vídeo «Around the World» del año
1997 del álbum Homework. "Fireman" (Bombero en español) que aparecen en el video de
«Burnin'» y "Tomatoes" por el vídeo «Revolution 909».

Uno de los grupos que fueron fuente de inspiración para Daft Punk fueron los franceses de
Space,7 en los cuales inspiraron sus cascos espaciales.

A principios de la carrera del grupo, el dúo era influenciado por bandas como The Beatles,
The Beach Boys y The Rolling Stones. Bangalter, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo y
Laurent Brancowitz se encontraban originalmente en una banda llamada Darlin', que se
disolvió después de un corto periodo de tiempo, permitiendo a los dos experimentar con
música por su cuenta. Pero años más tarde el dúo y la banda se juntarían en el Madison
Square Garden, haciendo un remix de varios temas, entre ellos destaca: «If I Ever Feel
Better» de Phoenix;, «Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger» y «Around the World» de Daft
Punk, juntando nuevamente a Bangalter y a de Homem-Christo junto con Brancowitz.

were originally in a band called Darlin, which was dissolved after a short time, it allowed to they to
experiment with music from their own. Years later the duet and the band will meet in the Madison

"Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk, gathering again Bangalter and Homem-Christo
with Brancowitz.
