INTRODUCCIÓN

El calentamiento global es un fenómeno que afecta a todos los seres vivos de nuestro
planeta y cuyas consecuencias pueden ser desastrosas. Consiste en el aumento de la
temperatura del sistema climático de La Tierra a largo plazo. Es la consecuencia más
preocupante del cambio climático a la que nos enfrentamos.

Causas del calentamiento global

El calentamiento global es causado por dos tipos de causas: naturales y artificiales.

Causas naturales del calentamiento global

Los naturales a pesar de estar presentes desde hace miles de años no son suficientes
como para realizar cambios climáticos.

Causas artificiales del calentamiento global

Las causas artificiales se refieren principalmente a los gases de efectos invernadero,
los cuales son provocados en su mayoría por las emisiones de dióxido de carbono (CO2)
y de metano (CH4), aunque existen muchas otras:
• Quema de combustibles fósiles
• Deforestación
• Aumento del vapor de agua en la atmósfera

Consecuencias del calentamiento global

El calentamiento global es un gran problema a nivel mundial ya que no afecta en zonas
determinadas, las consecuencias principales son:
1. Derretimiento de los glaciares: Esto causará el aumento del nivel del mar
considerablemente provocando inundaciones y dejándonos sin la principal
reserva de agua dulce del planeta.
2. Cambio climático: Es causado por los gases acumulados en la atmósfera que
aumenta la temperatura, afectando los climas de diferentes zonas geográficas
y a la flora y fauna que ahí se encuentren.
3. Cambio en el ciclo hidrológico: Las repercusiones de este punto van desde un
cambio en el pH del agua provocando lluvia ácida hasta huracanes y tormentas
más intensas debidas al calor.
4. Falta de alimentos: Esto solo afectaría a los países menos desarrollados que
dependen totalmente de las actividades agrícolas, ya que el calor destruye los
cultivos o hace escasear el agua para riego.

¿Cómo combatir el calentamiento global?

Existen diferentes soluciones para reducir o evitar que continúe el aumento de la
temperatura en el planeta, tales como:
• Regular las emisiones de CO2: Procurar evitar el uso de automóviles utilizando
bicicletas u optando por cambiar nuestro auto convencional por uno ecléctico o
híbrido. Controlar las emisiones causadas por la industria en general ya que las
cantidades de estas son exageradas.
• Plantar más árboles: Haciendo esto el exceso de CO2 en el ambiente empezaría
a decrecer y los árboles actuarían como termorreguladores.
• Reducir el uso de electricidad: Evitar dejar luces encendidas y desconectar
aparatos eléctricos cuando no están en uso, intercambiar los focos comunes por
focos LED que tiene un consumo energético mucho menor.
• Generar menos basura: Al comprar un producto tener en mente si puede ser
reutilizado o reciclado, preferir embaces de vidrio en lugar de uno plástico ya
que los primeros son mucho más fáciles de reciclar o comprar desechables
agradables.
Además de las acciones que podemos realizar individualmente, existen organismos
internacionales que nos marcas la pauta para coordinar el combate. La Organización de
las Naciones Unidas (ONU), a través de su programa para el medio ambiente, marcan la
pauta global y coordinan esfuerzos para lograr este fin.

 INTRODUCTION

Global warming is a phenomenon that affects all living beings on our planet and whose
consequences can be disastrous. It consists of a long-term increase in the
temperature of the Earth's climate system. It is the most worrying consequence of
climate change that we are facing.

Causes of global warming

Global warming is caused by two types of causes: natural and man-made.

Natural causes of global warming
The natural ones, although they have been present for thousands of years, are not
enough to cause climate change.

Artificial causes of global warming

Man-made causes refer mainly to greenhouse gases, which are mostly caused by
carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) emissions, although there are many others:
Burning of fossil fuels
Deforestation
Increase of water vapor in the atmosphere

Consequences of global warming

Global warming is a major problem worldwide since it does not affect specific areas,
the main consequences are:
1. Melting of glaciers: this will cause the sea level to rise considerably causing
floods and leaving us without the main reserve of fresh water on the planet.
2. Climate change: This is caused by gases accumulated in the atmosphere that
increase the temperature, affecting the climates of different geographical
 areas and the flora and fauna found there.
3. Change in the hydrological cycle: The repercussions of this point range from
a change in the pH of water causing acid rain to hurricanes and more intense
storms due to heat.
4. Lack of food: This would only affect less developed countries that are
totally dependent on agricultural activities, as heat destroys crops or makes
water for irrigation scarce.

How to combat global warming?

There are different solutions to reduce or prevent further temperature increase on

the planet, such as:

Regulating CO2 emissions: Trying to avoid the use of cars by using bicycles or opting
to change our conventional car for an eclectic or hybrid one. Control emissions caused
by industry in general, since the amounts of these are exaggerated.
Plant more trees: By doing this the excess of CO2 in the environment would start to
decrease and the trees would act as thermoregulators.
Reduce the use of electricity: Avoid leaving lights on and unplug electrical appliances
when they are not in use, exchange common light bulbs for LED bulbs that have a
much lower energy consumption.
Generate less waste: When buying a product keep in mind if it can be reused or
recycled, prefer glass packaging instead of plastic, since the former are much easier
to recycle, or buy nice disposable ones.

In addition to the actions we can take individually, there are international

organizations that set the guidelines to coordinate the fight. The United Nations
(UN), through its environmental program, sets the global standard and coordinates
efforts to achieve this goal.

CONCLUTION
In this work, we have investigated the causes and consequences of global warming and
its incidence on human beings, which has allowed us to analyze the strong impact of
people's actions in increasing the temperature in recent years. We have analyzed the
alternative solutions to reduce this phenomenon. We have reflected on the
importance of this phenomenon in our lives with valid data and information on the
answer to the guiding question, which is why we must conserve our planet Earth and
look for alternative solutions to reduce the effect of Global Warming.
