RESUMEN
El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como
fin describir y comparar el nivel de
comunicación escrita (comprensión y (comprehension and production) of the English

de 5to grado de secundaria, mediante la
aplicación y el procesamiento de los datos
obtenidos del Examen Internacional “A2 Key
English Test for Schools” validado por la
Universidad de Cambridge. De esta manera
podremos acercarnos a la realidad educativa de
los estudiantes de las instituciones educativas
públicas de donde egresan.
El marco teórico, fundamento de esta
investigación, brindará a los lectores una clara
idea acerca de la comunicación escrita en el
idioma inglés y por ende de las dos habilidades
que ésta contiene: comprensión lectora y
producción de textos, en donde se encontrarán
conceptos esenciales, complementarios y
específicos para una mejor comprensión de la
misma.
Asimismo, se vio conveniente trabajar con
énfasis en el enfoque comunicativo debido a que
en la enseñanza del idioma inglés como lengua
extranjera se desarrollan tareas comunicativas
que promueven el aprendizaje significativo,
haciendo uso de actividades contextualizadas
que ayudan a los estudiantes a realizar una
comunicación más real.

ABSTRACT
The present research aims to describe and
compare the level of written communication
language in 5th grade of secondary school
students, through the application and processing of
data obtained from the International Examination
"A2 Key English Test for Schools" validated by
the University of Cambridge. In this way we can
get closer to the educational reality of the students
of the public educational institutions from which
they graduate.
The theoretical framework, the basis of this
research, will provide readers with a clear idea
about written communication in the English
language and therefore about the two skills it
contains: reading comprehension and text
production, where essential, complementary and
specific concepts will be found for a better
understanding of it.
Likewise, it was convenient to work with
emphasis on the communicative approach because
in the teaching of English as a foreign language,
communicative tasks are developed that promote
significant learning, making use of contextualized
activities that help students to make a more real
communication.
The argumentation and presentation of this
research has been organized in three chapters. In
the first chapter the theoretical framework is
developed, which includes the approach to the

de la investigación. Este capítulo empieza con el
diseño de la investigación, luego continua con
los criterios y procedimientos que se aplicaron
para la selección significativa de la población,

Asimismo, en el tercer capítulo se presenta los
resultados y sus respectivos análisis con gráficos
y tablas. Finalmente se presentan las
conclusiones, las recomendaciones, las
referencias, y apéndices que incluyen el Examen
Internacional “A2 Key English Test for
Schools”, la propuesta metodológica “Good
readers and writers” y la matriz de consistencia.
Se espera que este trabajo de investigación sea
un aporte significativo para toda la comunidad
educativa que se desempeña en el área del
idioma inglés y así poder contribuir, de manera
especial, con la mejora en el desarrollo de la
comunicación escrita.

of the research, then continues with the criteria

It is hoped that this research work will make a
significant contribution to the entire educational
community working in the area of the English
language and thus be able to contribute, in a
special way, to the improvement of the
development of written communication.
