El trabajo se puede realizar desde la pc o celular con algún procesador de texto, o bien se puede responder en la
carpeta. Al enviar las imágenes se les pide que se visualicen bien, que se puedan leer claramente por el/la
profesor/a y se encuentren de manera vertical sin que deban ser giradas para corregirlas, y todo el trabajo debe
estar en el mismo archivo. Por último, repetir el nombre apellido y curso para facilitar su corrección. Los trabajos
que se realicen a mano, deben ser escritos en lapicera azul o negra. Se les agradece la colaboración.

ACTIVITY 9: SAFETY IN THE WORKSHOP

The purpose of having safety signage in the workplace is to identify and warn workers who may be
exposed to hazards in the workplace. Safety signs can assist in the communication of important
instructions, reinforce safety messages and provide instruction for emergency situations.
Colours identify the categories.

Red : Prohibition signs (Dangerous)

Yellow or Amber: Warning signs

(Be careful, take precautions)

Activity 1:

Read these situations and give, at least, one of the signs. Draw the corresponding sign/s.
(leer las situaciones y otorgarles (al menos) una señal de seguridad a cada una. Dibujar la/s señal/es

Example:

“Be careful! Motor control equipment is connected to hazardous line voltages.”

Exercise:

1- In this area it is forbidden smoking and eating.

2- Do not use mobile phones here.
3- In the workshop you must wear a safety vest, a helmet and gloves to protect yourself from
injuries.
4- Running is prohibited in this area.
5- Be careful, here! Men at work with crane.
6- In need of an extinguisher, use the key behind the glass.
7- “Non-potable water”
8- Forklifts are not allowed in this area.
9- These substances provide oxygen which allows other materials to burn easily.
10- Caustic soda.
11- Be careful when you open the door!
12- Your hair must be tied up to prevent accidents in this place.
