• Expresar aprobación/desaprobación (You should repeat the exercise/it couldn’t have been
better).
• Expresar nuestros deseos; lo que nos gusta/desagrada (I can’t stand people smoking/ what I

• Expresar diversos estados de ánimo y sentimientos: aburrimiento (I’m fed up with...);
alegría/tristeza (nice to hear about you/to tell you the truth, I’m very pessimistic about it...);
satisfacción yadmiración (she seems very content with her marriage); antipatía, desprecio,
contrariedad (that’svery disappointing); enfado/disgusto: (I’mveryannoyed/what makes my
blood boil is...);preocupación: (I was absolutely terrified.../I was so scared that....): optimismo:
(Oh cheer up, I’msure everything will be fine); sorpresa: (really?/ That’s extraordinary!) ;
alivio: (thank goodness! I’mglad to hear that); entusiamo: (I’m really very enthusiastic about
the concert; I’m fascinated);
interés/desinterés (I’m so bored with it!/ I don’t mind); esperanza (I hope things will turn out
better this time); preferencia (I’ll have a coffee, thanks/I prefer tea, thanks); temor (She’s
afraid of heights).
• Expresar estado físico o de salud: cansancio y sueño, dolor y enfermedad, frío y calor, hambre
y sed(I’m really tired/she’s exhausted/I need a rest/I’m thirsty).
