Hacer un diccionario el proyecto cobuild

Un avance importante en la aplicación de las computadoras a la educación es la creación de


enormes bases de datos de texto que ilustran la forma en que usamos el lenguaje en la escritura y
la conversación normales. Estos datos pueden usarse para muchos propósitos, por ejemplo, para
compilar un diccionario.

en 1980 se inició un proyecto llamado cobuild, un equipo especial que trabajaba en la universidad
de birmingham este proyecto eventualmente condujo a la publicación del diccionario de lenguaje
inglés collins cobuild las palabras y oraciones de ejemplo en este diccionario se extrajeron de una
base de datos de computadora que contenía alrededor de 20 millones de palabras de texto en
inglés En primer lugar, una gran colección de libros, periódicos, transcripciones de debates
radiofónicos y conversaciones informales se convirtieron en formato digital, ya sea escribiéndolos
en un teclado o utilizando un lector óptico de caracteres a kdem.

Después de que se corrigió el texto almacenado en la computadora y el equipo de investigación


utilizó un programa que produjo una concordancia de palabras para cada palabra, se produjo e

one important development in the application of computers to education is the creation of huge
databases of text whicch ilustrate the way we use languaje in normal writing and conversation this
data may be used for many purposes for example to compile a dictionary.

in 1980 a project called cobuild was begun b a special team who worked inthe university of
birmingham this project eventually led to the publication of the collins cobuild english lenguaje
dictionary the words and example sentences in this dictionary were drawn from a computer
database containig about 20 millon words of english text

first of all a large collection of books newspapers transcripts of radio discussions and informal
conversations were converted into digital form either by typing them on a keyboard or by using an
optical character reader a kdem
after that text stored on computer was corrected and the research team used a program which
produced a concordance of words for each word a complete list of examples containig the word
was produced and printed out by the computer

these examples from real english text made it possible to select those words which are most
commonly used to analyse the diferrent ways they are used and choose ilustrative sentences
which are authentic instea of sentences invented by lexicographers

as a result the team was finally able to produce a dictionary which reflects the way words are used
in real life and has collected a store of texts which gives future researchers the option of checking
their theories against objetive reality

If it would be very helpful to be able to use computers with internet access more frequently since
it would make it easier at the time of any investigation.

Communication and information technologies (TIC) have revolutionized the way teaching is
conceived, to the point that they have replaced what is understood as effective pedagogy with its
multiple possibilities. Computers in all their forms desktop, laptop, netbook and more recently
tablets have become tools closely linked to other TICS.
4) What you understand by the terms: network, self-access and computer classroom?

A computer lab turns the class into an academic environment for teachers to discuss and reflect
while students develop their skills in computer programs such as Excel, Word, Indesign, Illustrator,
Photoshop, AutoCAD, etc.

It can also be said that a computer room is very useful since it contains the Internet and one can
give oneself access to any information that one requires.
