¿Sabías que hay más extranjeros en el mundo que hablan inglés que personas cuya lengua
materna es el inglés? ¡Bienvenido! Estás en buenas manos.
¿Ser o no ser?
En español, decimos yo hablo, tú hablas, nosotros hablamos, etc., pero en inglés las
terminaciones de los verbos no cambian tanto. Una excepción es el verbo to be, que significa ser
y estar.

TO BE (ser o estar)
I (yo) Am (soy- estoy)
You (tú-usted) Are (eres- estás, es, está)
He (él) Is (es-está)
She (ella) Is (es-está)

Aunque en español podemos decir Yo soy un niño, o solamente Soy un niño, en inglés, siempre
se requieren las palabras como yo y tú.
I am a boy. You are a girl.
Yo soy un niño. Tú eres una niña.

¡Oh no! Para decir yo no soy o tú no eres en inglés, agrega not después del verbo to be.
POSITIVA NEGATIVA
You are Stephen. You are not Stephen
She is Mary. She is not Mary.
He is Peter. He is not Peter.

¡Pregunta sin problemas!

Si quieres hacer una pregunta con to be, solamente cambia el orden del verbo to be.

POSITIVA PREGUNTA
You are from Mexico. Are you from Mexico?
Tú eres de México. ¿Tú eres de México?
He is from Madrid. Is he from Madrid?
Él es de Madrid. ¿Él es de México?
