Para poner esto en términos más positivos, podemos decir que la existencia del cáncer es un
mensaje del sistema inmunológico de la persona, que les indica que necesitan soltar ciertas
emociones estresantes, resolver conflictos internos y crear una vida que valga la pena vivi r. El
único riesgo de este modelo para entender la enfermedad, es que sugiere que la existencia
continua de células de cáncer, presupone partes que están continuamente en conflicto.
Cuando los clientes no disuelven su cáncer de manera in-mediata como resultado de la
Integración de partes en conflicto, las técnicas de la Terapia de Línea de Tiempo®,
reimprontación, transformación esencial, etc., entonces los practicantes de PNL tienden a
preguntarse: “¿qué está mal?” De hecho, puede ser que nada esté mal. Al gunas personas
requieren de tiempo para sanarse (véase la descripción del Zhineng Chi Kung, que viene
líneas abajo). La respuesta más útil puede ser el continuar la visualización hacia el sanar. Si
alguien ha tenido dificultades de ortografía y realizamos la cura de trauma sobre todos los
recuerdos que le perturban en relación a su ortografía, si ellos cometen una falla en su
escritura con otra palabra, no necesariamente nos preguntamos “¿qué está mal?”. Tendemos
a aceptar que su cerebro está aprendiendo el nuevo proceso. Una aceptación similar, puede
ser útil en este caso.
El tratamiento de la PNL también puede enseñar a una persona cómo visualizar el sistema
inmunológico respondiendo de una manera efectiva al cáncer. Dilts, Hallbom y Smith (1990,
pp. 153-156) expresan su preocupación sobre el uso de la visualización que alienta una
metáfora de “guerra”, mencionando que puede alentar el conflicto interno entre las partes. En
vez de esto, proponen imágenes tales como ovejas pastando sobre la yerba. La investi gación
de los Simonton reveló que ciertos factores hacían que las visualizaciones fueran más
exitosas en la sanación del cáncer (Simonton et al, 1980, pp.136 -160). Estos factores incluían:
Verifica el cambio: Celebra todos los cambios, sin importar lo pequeños que puedan ser.
Reencuadra cualquier cambio relacionado con las activida des arriba mencionadas como
mensajes de la mente inconsciente de que la sanación se está dando.
Éxito: Garantiza un compromiso permanente de llevar a cabo los cambios que la mente
inconsciente te indique que es necesario hacer.
