RESUMEN
En el siguiente artículo se realizará la explicación de oferta y demanda a nivel nacional de los medicamentos,
teniendo bases de datos obtenidas del Instituto Nacional de Vigilancia de Medicamento (INVIMA), La
Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), incorpora dentro de sus recomendaciones sobre políticas
farmacéuticas la realización de investigación operativa como parte fundamental de las acciones del Estado
referente a los medicamentos. Este tipo de investigación es entendida como aquella dirigida a la
comprensión de los factores que determinan el consumo de medicamentos en la población y la identificación
de los procesos de selección, adquisición, distribución y utilización de éstos.
ABSTRACT
The following article will explain the supply and demand at national level of medicines, having databases obtained
from the National Institute for Drug Surveillance (INVIMA), The World Health Organization (WHO), incorporates within
its recommendations on pharmaceutical policies the carrying out of operational research as a fundamental part of the
actions of the State regarding medicines. This type of research is understood as that directed to the understanding of
the factors that determine the consumption of medicines in the population and the identification of the processes of
selection, acquisition, distribution and use of these.
