 "CARNIVAL OF CAJAMARCA"

Cajamarca is known as the Capital of Carnival Peruvian. Its people

celebrate this holiday with great dedication, so much so that for months before
they prepare for the parades of famous corso the Carnival, designing the
costumes that each troupe, the district elect their representatives to designate the
Carnival Queen, who will chair the Corsican and other activities. It is a time of joy
of sharing with visitors in the troupes, marching groups, dancing and other
activities taking place throughout the month of celebration.
After the carnival begin to celebrate a festival called Tomb Unshas or mountain
where the guests dance around a tree filled with gifts hanging from their branches
and they'll give machete until it falls off and the guests collect the presents. There
is much dancing, food and drinks for all.

Cajamarca es conocida como la Capital del Carnaval Peruano. Se celebra

en el mes de febrero, sus personas celebran esta fiesta con gran dedicación,
tanto es así que durante meses antes de que se preparan para los desfiles de
famoso corso del Carnaval, el diseño de los trajes que cada compañía, el distrito
eligen a sus representantes para designar a la Reina del Carnaval , que presidirá
el corso y otras actividades. Es un momento de alegría de compartir con los
visitantes en las comparsas, grupos marchando, baile y otras actividades que
tienen lugar durante todo el mes de celebración.

Después del carnaval comienzan a celebrar un festival llamado Tumba

Unshas o montaña donde los invitados bailan alrededor de un árbol lleno de
regalos que cuelgan de sus ramas y van a dar machete hasta que se caiga y los
invitados a recoger los regalos . Hay mucho baile, comida y bebidas para todos.
