Affiliations Abstract

This research work has by purpose to evaluate the characteristics of the

rock mass in the heading such as: Boa, Frente N, San Antón I y II.
Through Beniawski and Barton’s theories, the deficiencies of this four
heading are evaluated, it found out the following problems: rock fall,
inadequate support, poor calculation of blasting due to lack of
geomechanical data, and a production of ore that not reach to the
projection according to the planning area. All the mentioned defects
generated a higher operating cost in the mining enterprise Wilsander.
The research objective is to improve the current mining plan by
determining the quality of the rock mass by evaluating unit operations in
order to optimize production. In chapter V, tests and results, first was
determined heading´s quality and type rock by lab tests that it have a
section of 2.40 x 2.10 m. The results were: a RQD = 72%, an average
Perú quality rock, a RMR of 51 which it indicate a type rock equal to III, a type
support according to value Q equal to 2.15. Second, the unit operations
were evaluated, the production of agreement to the statistics was lower
to 1280 TM/month which is below optimal operating production. This
production before lab tests achieved 35.44 TM/day by drilling blast holes
of 4 feet and by loading manually a mining truck of 3 tons of capacity,
and by obtained an advance of 1.00 meter/blast. To optimize the
production since January 2015 the tests were carried out in period of 04
months by drilling blast holes of 5 feet and by loading a mining truck of 4
tons of capacity, and by obtained an advance of 1.30 meters/blast. After
of the tests, it was possible to increase the production of 35.44 TM/day
to a production of 48.44 TM/day of gold minerals, likewise, month
production was improved to 1,285 TM/month of gold minerals in the

Wilsander Mining Contract
Polish hard coal mining has been struggling with numerous problems for
many years. Currently, the main challenge for the industry is the need to
improve efficiency. It is the prerequisite for survival of mining industry.
Considering the importance and topicality of the issue there are threats
and opportunities regarding efficiency improvement in Polish mining
enterprises in terms of production costs presented in the article. Main
thesis states that the analysis and evaluation of production costs
connected with monitoring the branch and economic environment
allows to specify procedures aimed at improving the efficiency in mining
Polonia companies. In the first stage of the research the costs of coal production
in 2006–2009 are analyzed and evaluated. Then, based on the results of
the previous stage and review of internal and external conditions of
mining enterprises performance, a catalogue of opportunities and
threats for efficiency improvement is established. In the first stage of the
research following methods are used: analysis of financial records,
analysis of the structure and dynamics of the unit cost of production,
comparative analysis and case study. In the second part of the research
the SWOT analysis is adapted for the purpose of verifying the potential
area of efficiency.
The research work entitled "Design of the perforation and blasting mesh
according to Holmberg, to reduce the unit costs in the Cortada SW level
2760. contracts mining company Arca.S.A.C-Production unit Santa María
- Cía. Minera Poderosa.S.A, 2017 ", aims to reduce the unit costs of
drilling and blasting with a new mesh design proposed by Holmberg; in
the Cut SW level 2760, it is necessary to have very high unit costs due to
having an inadequate perforation mesh, which does not conform to the
characteristics of the rock mass, therefore, too much explosive charge
was used in the drills, having as a consequence bad fragmentation,
taqueos and over breakage of walls and crown. The investigation allowed
to determine a mesh of perforation and blasting according to the
algorithm of Holmberg, for the development of the cut SW level 2760
Perú and to achieve greater linear advance. The number of holes previously
determined is 51 holes and the proposed is 49 holes, therefore the unit
costs of advance drilling were reduced from 94.45 US$ / m advance to
83.47 US $ / m advance with a difference of 10.98 US $ / m of progress
which means a saving of 11.63%, so the load factor of 24.65 kg / m of
advance to 20.21 kg / m of advance, which means a reduction of 18.01%,
is also reduced, costs were also reduced unit of blasting per linear meter
of advance of 103.29 US $ / m advance to 86.02 US $ / m advance with a
difference of 17.27 US $ / m advance which means a saving of 16.72%
and finally a saving of 28.25 was achieved USS / m advance by drilling
and blasting and the initial linear advance performance of 1.45 m / shot
at 1.58 m / shot was increased according to the proposed design
according to Holmberg's algorithms.

Having proper rock masses characterization is of great importance in

underground mining works to make the right decisions in terms of
sustenance and other tasks like is the case of drilling and blasting. Here it
is proposed the built of a geomechanical table based in the GSI through
Facultad de Minas, Universidad which to decide the drilling grid configuration applies for each rock type.
Nacional de Colombia, Medellín, This improves production cycles and explosives consumption in blasting.
Colombia This table is created from experimental trials in blasting of panels with
different drilling grid geometries, the ranging from 60x60cm up 80x80
cm; and the main parameter to ensure is a maximum particle size of 30
cm after the blasting with 24.6% costs reduction.
This article show analysis and design drilling and blasting operation on surface
mining it focus on structured programming. The idea about this article a
program where you can introduce different variables like, explosive density,
diameter, inclination drilling, compressive strength rock and rock mass design,
after that, we get most important variables for this design like rock mass height,
Universidad Nacional de Colombia burden, spacing, hole charging , hole number, load factor.
This article has allowed design drilling and blasting operation a
lower time and get down mistake of the people that get it for repetitive use of
calculation for parameter used in this design in drilling and blasting operation
on surface mining.

Facultad de Minas, Universidad In this article, we first present a description of the mining planning
Nacional de Colombia, Medellín, process from a classical point of view and its relationship with the
Colombia. current mining planning processes based on optimization in its different
stages. Next, we will approach the open-pit mining planning processes
from a decision-based approach under uncertainty. Finally, it has a
critical analysis of the articles classifying them into five categories:
Geological modeling; Mining planning; Financial evaluation; Decisions
under uncertainty and optimization models.
Gomes Sand is a quarry operation that produces sand and aggregates for
the construction industry. The quarry is experiencing inconsistencies in
fragmentation and poor well conditions as a result of poor drilling and
blasting practices. This is due to excessive downtime in the loading,
transport and crushing processes. A comparative evaluation exercise of
the blasting practices was carried out to evaluate the effect of the
inconsistency in the mining cycle. After the changes in the blasting
practices, the downtime was reduced, the utilization of the crushing
plant was improved by 4.9%. Improved blasting practices and further
Universidad de petroria fragmentation reduced the number of loads lost each month due to jaw
crusher blockages from 9.2% to 3.9% of the plant's performance. The
change in blasting practices also improved well conditions.
Drilling and blasting are fundamental operations in the mining cycle and
the important component of mining costs. In principle, the
fragmentation of the rock can be managed by two options: increase or
reduce the specific consumption of explosives or modify the drilling
pattern. The choice of one or the other type of control depends on the
relationship between the unit costs of drilling and explosives, and the
technical or unforeseeable constraints for different reasons. Then it is
necessary to identify the link between the design of the production and
Universidad Nacional de Colombia some factors that affect the subsequent processing of the product. This
article analyzes the theoretical bases in order to evaluate the main ones.
In particular, a method developed through the analysis of results in a
large number of limestone open-pit quarries in Italy is described and
commented on. The first experimental results in Brazil were obtained by
applying this method in the Experimental Mine of the Responsible
Mining Research Center of the University of São Paulo. The experimental
methods and the results will be analyzed and discussed in the second
part of this document.
