INTRODUCTION: I believe always it is IMPORTANT and beneficial

to review the previous year’s odu and how that transitions to the
new year’s odu. Too often I see the regurgitated interpretations
that disregard the previous year’s odu. Look at it this way in Cuba
our tradition is to throw a bucket (or several) of dirty water out
the door or off the balcony at midnight. Naturally this represents
change, a new beginning, yet it does not mean disregarding
completely the previous year. That dirty water we throw out still
comes from the same pipes, stream, skies as the previous year
and it is important to realize this. Our personal odu(s) continue to
be a major factor in how each year’s letra affects us personally
and this should be carefully considered also. In my teachings I
always speak about the importance of foundations and building
your foundation; the letra is much the same as there is a
foundation already built.

INTRODUCCIÓN: Creo que siempre es IMPORTANTE y

beneficioso revisar el odu del año anterior y cómo eso hace la
transición al odu del nuevo año. Muy a menudo veo las
interpretaciones regurgitadas que ignoran el odu del año anterior.
Míralo de esta manera en Cuba, nuestra tradición es tirar un cubo
(o varios) de agua sucia por la puerta o por el balcón a la
medianoche. Naturalmente, esto representa un cambio, un nuevo
comienzo, pero no significa ignorar completamente el año
anterior. El agua sucia que arrojamos todavía proviene de las
mismas tuberías, arroyos, cielos que el año anterior y es
importante darse cuenta de esto. Nuestros odu (s) personales
continúan siendo un factor importante en la forma en que la letra
de cada año nos afecta personalmente y esto también debe
considerarse cuidadosamente. En mis enseñanzas, siempre hablo
sobre la importancia de las fundaciones y la construcción de su

This foundation is our personal odu(s) combined with last year’s

odu. If we look at it mathematically I would suggest we look at it
somewhat like this: Our personal odu(s) 65% as these do not
change and this is the biggest part of our foundation. The 35% is
a combination of the previous year’s odu and the new odu. This
35% is also somewhat flexible depending on the two odus. For
example 2018 was a very strong and massive odu for women and
their empowerment. My padrino Lazaro Pijuan and I may have
been the only two screaming from the rooftops this fact. It was
incredible to me that all credible diviners were not joining us on
the roof, yet they were not. They somehow became distracted or
focused on less important aspects of the letra. Here is what I
wrote you last year:

Esta base es nuestro odu (s) personal combinado con el odu del
año pasado. Si lo observamos matemáticamente, sugeriría que lo
veamos de esta manera: Nuestro odu (s) personal (es) 65% ya
que estos no cambian y esta es la parte más importante de
nuestra fundación. El 35% es una combinación del odu del año
anterior y el nuevo odu. Este 35% también es algo flexible
dependiendo de los dos odus. Por ejemplo, 2018 fue un odu muy
fuerte y masivo para las mujeres y su empoderamiento. Mi

what you might not realize) This is a MASSIVE odu for women,
leadership and growth of women (worldwide) and yes war with
women too. It comes with Ire (positive). OSA-OSE (SHE) is well
named because it is about SHE, Olokun in the female avatar is the
root of OSA-SHE., Eleggua opens the doors and Yemaya walks us
through and cares for us. This is a sign of Nature, a water sign,
water moves, progress, change.

Letra del año (Miguel Febles Padron) ~ OSA SHE ~ (Sinopsis y lo que
quizás no sepas) Este es un odio MASIVO para mujeres, liderazgo y
crecimiento de mujeres (en todo el mundo) y sí, también guerra con
mujeres. Viene con Ire (positivo). OSA-OSE (SHE) se llama así
porque se trata de SHE, Olokun en el avatar femenino es la raíz de

This massive odu does not get thrown out with the dirty water is
what I am trying to tell you. In the case of OSA SHE this odu is a
permanent change that becomes woven into the fabric. Many
other odu that turn up in our letras are much more temporal
rather than permanent they last for often the two years and then
fade, OSA SHE is the rare odu that has a more permanent effect,
it’s a game changer.

Lo que estoy tratando de decirte es que este odio masivo no se

THE TRANSITION: Normally the 35% works like a scale, when

we begin eliminating weight from one side and adding weight to
the other side our scale gradually and steadily shifts before it
eventually balances. Normally this occurs over the 12 months,
just as it did last year with OSA SHE and Baba Eyiogbe the
previous year. What I am trying to articulate for you is to
understand that suddenly January 1st, we do not discard the
previous year, because this takes time to lessen its effects as it is
replaced by the current year’s odu. What is different about this
transition is that as I said, OSA SHE is not going anywhere, it is
permanently woven into the fabric. The complication is that this
means the transition from 2018 to 2019 is NOT a normal
transition. I wish I could clearly tell you how this will affect the
2019 odu of OSE OGUNDA, but this is unclear. Sure, I could
guess, but I don’t guess, therefore, because it is unclear, I am
telling you it is unclear. Understand that this will not change OSE
OGUNDA, but it does make how fast or slow OSE OGUNDA is
added to our two year mix unclear.
LA TRANSICIÓN: Normalmente, el 35% funciona como una
báscula, cuando comenzamos a eliminar el peso de un lado y al
agregar peso al otro, nuestra báscula cambia gradualmente y de

OSE OGUNDA

Interestingly OSE OGUNDA is also a big odu for change, however

that change is not necessarily permanent change. This makes it
considerably different from our 2018 odu of OSA SHE. My
interpretation is based on looking at the foundation and that OSE
OGUNDA may take some time to fully bring the change that it
will. The big question with this odu is how fast the change occurs.
Politically it suggests change at the top, and that too is
interesting, not just in the USA, but elsewhere. Europe is poised
for change, India and the Middle East are poised for change, and
certainly Cuba is poised for change. Almost all of Latin America is
poised for change to name but a few. I would not be long in the
stock market for instance with this odu ruling the year. It is an
odu suggesting upheaval and realignment. It is important to
realize that change comes in positive and negative flavors
OSE OGUNDA

Es interesante que OSE OGUNDA también es un gran odu para el

cambio, sin embargo, ese cambio no es necesariamente un
cambio permanente. Esto lo hace considerablemente diferente de
nuestro 2018 odu de OSA SHE. Mi interpretación se basa en mirar
a la fundación y que OSE OGUNDA puede tomar algún tiempo

OSE OGUNDA suggests plenty of fighting, conflicts, thus there is

not much laid back about this odu. The letra’s refrains, ebbo and
other elements you can find elsewhere. The most important one
to discuss is sacrifice. Sacrifice is very important to this odu as it
will not only protect us (personally), but it can also delay how the
change that this odu can affect us. On a scale of 1- 10
importance of sacrifice I’d rate at least 8, this is not an odu to
mess around or procrastinate with. Truth and Orunmila are very
relevant to this odu, those who try to circumvent the truth will be
exposed and discredited. Interestingly in this odu this also
suggests that those responsible or those who are at the top of
creating falsehoods will be held accountable after they are
exposed. Before we talk about Oshun, I want to point out an
observation I have realized.

OSE OGUNDA sugiere muchos combates, conflictos, por lo tanto,

I never claim to be a great diviner, my padrino is one of the

greatest in Cuba and because of this I focus on other aspects of
my priesthood. The only time you encounter me interpreting for
you is for the Letter, otherwise my studies are elsewhere. I am a
big proponent of not over divining, of course this is partly
because I do not need to as my godfather is the expert. This does
not mean I can’t divine, because of course I can. I feel very
comfortable that my readings and interpretations are accurate,
yet understand I am more focused on the macro than the micro.
In other words I am a big picture awo and I am sharing the big
picture here. I also make a habit of looking for what may be
missed or misunderstood, such as last year with OSA SHE being
about women. Like all credible awo, I describe myself as a
student, rather than a teacher. I may teach, but the acquisition of
knowledge and wisdom is something I will pursue until my last
breath. Indeed I am a typical ogbe osa and struggle with finishing
what I start and humility, yet I am the consular and strategist to
kings, my brain is worth 100 and this is my odu DNA. I look at
the world and do not exclusively look at Ifa or IFA culture. I
would be blind if did not look at outside factors other than my
beloved Ifa. I am not very knowledgeable about astrology, but
when something big happens I pay attention. Just as I do with
many other divination forms. In the last six weeks Jupiter rocked
the astrological world in effect shook the tree and is in the
process of eliminating the bad apples and rewarding those who
have sacrificed and who are deserving. These too are more
permanent changes and they are continuing. When we combine
this with our odu and the influence or Orunmila we see that Ifa
and astrology agree completely and this is quite noteworthy.

Nunca pretendo ser un gran adivino, mi padrino es uno de los

más grandes de Cuba y por eso me enfoco en otros aspectos de
mi sacerdocio. La única vez que me encuentres interpretando
para ti es para la Carta, de lo contrario mis estudios están en otra
parte. Soy un gran defensor de no adivinar, por supuesto, esto se
debe en parte a que no lo necesito ya que mi padrino es el
experto. Esto no significa que no pueda ser divino, porque por
supuesto que puedo. Me siento muy cómodo de que mis lecturas
e interpretaciones son precisas, pero entiendo que estoy más
enfocado en la macro que en el micro. En otras palabras, soy una
imagen grande y estoy compartiendo la imagen general aquí.
También tengo el hábito de buscar lo que se puede pasar por alto
o malinterpretar, como el año pasado con OSA SHE sobre
mujeres. Como todo awo creíble, me describo como un
estudiante, en lugar de un profesor. Puedo enseñar, pero la
adquisición de conocimiento y sabiduría es algo que perseguiré
hasta mi último aliento. De hecho, soy un ostentoso típico y lucho

muchas otras formas de adivinación. En las últimas seis semanas,

Oshun is the other major factor of this letter and she is pissed.
Humans are ruining this planet and she is not going to sit back
and let it happen, so beware. Offerings of honey and gold will not
save us, we need to SACRIFICE and I am not talking about
animals, I am speaking to real, significant and personal
SACRIFICE in regards to energy, conservation, pollution. This is
your alarm bell and it will not stop ringing until we do SACRIFICE
and start to repair the damage we have done to our environment.
Ignore her at your own risk. She is not only expecting us to
SACRIFICE personally, but also be proactive and spread the word
in no uncertain terms and hold offenders accountable. So there
you have it, 2019’s letra explained. I remain but one Cuban
Lucumi , Baba Awo, ogbe osa, member of THE commission this

el daño que hemos hecho a nuestro entorno. Ignórala a tu propio
