INTRODUCCIÓN:

 Los polímeros sintéticos no son biodegradables o, de serlo, se demorarían muchísimos años.

 Una bolsa de polietileno podría demorar 150 años en degradarse.
 Un vaso de polipropileno podría demorar 1000 años.
 Esto conlleva una posible acumulación de desechos tóxicos en nuestro planeta y, por consiguiente,
un aumento en el deterioro medioambiental.
 Por lo tanto, la problemática presente en la elaboración de polímeros sintéticos, es la casi nula
posibilidad de ser degradados por el medio ambiente, después de su uso.
 Esto nos pone en la siguiente disyuntiva, no podemos prescindir de estos polímeros, pero tampoco
podemos abusar de ellos contaminando nuestro planeta.
 En ese contexto, podríamos reducir los efectos negativos que produciría la acumulación de residuos
asociados a los polímeros sintéticos.
 Una forma de hacerlo es reutilizando algunos productos. Otra es reciclando.
 A continuación, algunos ejemplos y sugerencias.

REUTILIZACIÓN DE BOLSAS PLÁSTICAS:

• En muchos lugares, por la compra de un producto, a uno le entregan una bolsa plástica para
llevarlo.

• Por lo general, uno suele botar a la basura dichas bolsas.

• Algo muy sencillo sería no botar inmediatamente esa bolsa y utilizarla, por ejemplo, como bolsa
para la basura.

REUTILIZACIÓN DE ENVASES PLÁSTICOS:

• Otro ejemplo sería la reutilización de botellas plásticas desechables.

• Por ejemplo, cortándolas por la mitad y usándolas como maceteros para cactus u otras plantas.

• O para proteger plantas pequeñas, haciéndoles hoyitos y poniéndolas sobre una plantita.

possibility of being degraded by the environment, after its use.
 This puts us in the following dilemma, we can not do without these polymers, but we can not abuse
them by polluting our planet.
 In this context, we could reduce the negative effects that the accumulation of waste associated
with synthetic polymers would produce.
 One way to do this is by reusing some products. Another is recycling.
 Here are some examples and suggestions.

REUSE OF PLASTIC BAGS:

 In many places, for the purchase of a product, one is given a plastic bag to carry it.
 Usually, one usually throws away those bags.
 Something very simple would be not to immediately throw away that bag and use it, for example,
as a garbage bag.
REUSE OF PLASTIC CONTAINERS:

 Another example would be the reuse of disposable plastic bottles.

 For example, cutting them in half and using them as flowerpots for cactus or other plants.
