11. 1 SO VS SUCH.

1) So+ adj/adv. (tan..)

e.g.
I have been working since 7am this morning. I’m so tired.
Traduccion: he estado trabajando desde la 7 am de esta manana. Estoy tan cansado.
Why are you driving so fast?
Traduccion: porque estas conduciendo tan rápido?
Kate is so beatiful I can’t believe she’s single!.
Traduccion: kate es tan Hermosa no puedo creer que ella este soltera.
My daughter studied so hard for her exam.
2) So+ cuantifier+noun .(tanto(a)/tantas(os))
Teresa has so many talents!
Teresa tiene tantos talentos.
3) So+that (tan…que)

SUCH

1) Such +adjetivo+noun (tan)

Tengo tanta suerte !Tengo amigos tan maravisos!
I’m so lucky. I have such wonderful friends!
Este vestido es tan bonito !deberia llevarlo mas a menudo!
This is such a pretty dress ¡I should wear it more often!
 It is such a beautiful day. Es un dia tan bonito.
Nota: no se puede utilizar “Such” con cuantificadores como : many/much o few/Little, solo
con “So“se pueden utilizar estos cuantificadores.

2) Such that (tan..que)

It was such a beautiful day that we decide to go to the beach. / Fue un dia tan bonito que
decidimos ir a la playa
David has such a small car that he doesn’t have to spend much Money on gas.
/David tiene un coche tan pequeno que no tiene que gastar mucho dinero en gasolina

3) Such + judgmental noun ( tan+ sustantivo critico).

Con sustantivos críticos el uso de such da énfasis.

 I never liked Andy. He is such a jerk!

Nunca me ha gustado Andy. Es un idiota.
 You are such a clown. Are you ever serious ? .
Eres un payaso ¿jamas estas en serio?
4) Such + noun( tal+sustantivo)
Nunca he visto tal arquitectura antes.
I have never seen such architecture before
Muy rara vez escuchamos tal musica.
We very rarely listen such music.

ENOUGH.

Es un adjetivo que se utilize para indicar lo suficiente o lo necesario. También se puede utilizar
con otros adjetivos, adverbios o nombres.

A) Adjetivos/adverbios.
 Heather is old enough now to make her own decisions.
Heather es lo suficientemente grande ahora para tomar sus propias decisiones.
