RESUMEN
RESUMEN
The study area is located on the West Nor- part of the city of Cajamarca at about 10 km in a
straight line. Geomorphologically is formed by mountains, hills and valleys a small
percentage. There Lithologically areniscosas limestone rocks and clay content fairly; These
rocks belong to the lower and upper Cretaceous. Tuffaceous volcanic rocks also crop
belonging to the Volcanic Huambos. We analyzed 26 mass movements that have covered a
total of 4.5 km2. The analysis showed that mass movements are dominated landslides
followed by debris flows and rockfall all these located in the south west of the study area. We
used the heuristic method for statistical analysis of the susceptibility. The results using this
method indicate that the high susceptibility to mass movements are the lithology, slope,
vegetation cover and hydrogeological factors. The analysis of the importance of the
determinants of instability (FCI) is lithology with 41% followed by 32% slope with vegetation
cover and 15% respectively. Maps were made lithological factors, slope, vegetation coverage
and hydrogeological and analyzed all together, this process determined the combination of
these four maps are closely related factors in the occurrence of mass movements.
Authorities are recommended engineering to mitigate these phenomena.
