Hansel and Gretel lived in the forest in a tiny cottage with their poor father, who
was a woodcutter, and their evil stepmother.
Hansel y Gretel vivan en el bosque en una pequea cabaa con su padre, un pobre leador,
y su perversa madrastra.

IN THE COTTAGE / EN LA CABAA

What is wrong with you?
Qu te ocurre?
Now that the children are sleeping, I have to talk to you.
Ahora que los nios estn durmiendo, tengo que hablar contigo.
About what?
Sobre qu?
We don't have enough food to feed the children. Tomorrow morning we will take
them into the deep woods and will leave them there.
No tenemos suficiente comida para alimentar a los nios. Maana por la maana los
llevaremos al interior del bosque y all los dejaremos.
I will not do that to my own children! Do you think that I will leave them there
where they can be in danger?
No voy a hacer eso con mis propios hijos!.Crees acaso que los voy a dejar all donde
puedan encontrarse en peligro?
Then the four of us will die ... anyway.
Entonces moriremos los cuatro... de todas formas.
She insisted so much in that idea that the woodcutter finally agreed. But Hansel
and Gretel were not sleeping; they were listening to the whole conversation.
Ella insisti tanto con esa idea que finalmente el leador termin aceptndola. Pero Hansel y
