Panasonic se ha unido con ocho socios para desarrollar una ciudad inteligente y super ecolgica que ser
inaugurada en 2014. Se trata de la Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (SST) y su diseo reducira un 70% las
emisiones de CO2 al medio ambiente.
La ciudad, conectada en red, estara construida sobre las 19 hectreas de una antigua fbrica de Pansonic, a
unos 30 kilmetros al suroeste de Tokio. La ciudad alojar a unas 3.000 personas cuyas vidas girarn en
torno al respeto al medio ambiente. Las 1.000 viviendas y edificios tendrn paneles solares para generar
electricidad, as como electrodomsticos inteligentes y celdas de energa.
Las bateras que se utilizaran podran ser la Ene-Farm, del tamao de un frigorfico y desarrollada
conjuntamente entre Panasonic y Tokyo Gas, que aseguran que esta Ene-Farm es capaz de reducir el
consumo de energa y las emisiones de CO2 un 35% y un 48% respectivamente de una casa tpica de Japn.
Tambin se contempla que la iluminacin de la ciudad sea LED, que haya estaciones de recarga EV para
coches elctricos, etc.
Se prev que el proyecto tenga un coste de 739 millones de dlares y que las casas estn ocupadas para
2018. De tener xito se espera que Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (SST) se convierta en un modelo para
futuras ciudades sostenibles.
