Electroforesis de zona: la carga neta de la protena pH del medio.
Normalmente, se realiza a pH alcalino, en el que la mayora de las protenas
presentan una carga global negativa. Cada protena migrar ms o menos en
funcin de su carga (que tambin determina hacia qu polo se dirigir la
protena, nodo (-) o ctodo (+) y su tamao. A mayor carga y menor tamao,
ms velocidad de migracin.
Separacin por tamao: permite separar protenas tratadas con SDS (sodio
dodecil sulfato) mediante un tamiz molecular (matriz), que hace que las
protenas ms pequeas corran ms que las ms grandes.
