CERTIFICACION CONSULAR DE TÍTULOS PROFESIONALES, CERTIFICADOS O CONSTANCIAS DE

ESTUDIOS

Si usted ha estudiado en los Estados Unidos y desea que sus documentos sean reconocidos por las
autoridades educativas del Perú, universidades, escuelas u otras instituciones, usted necesita legalizar sus
documentos.

Procedimiento
1. El documento debe estar firmado por el director de la escuela, college o universidad (principal) o el jefe
de registros (Registrar), indicar el lugar y fecha y llevar el sello de la institución educativa.

2. Haga “notarizar” el documento por el Notario de la escuela, college o universidad.

Si se trata de un “transcript”, el notario deberá escribir y firmar una nota que diga: “I hereby certify that
this is an official transcript and the signatures are authorized.” Si se trata de Diplomas, el notario deberá
escribir y firmar una nota que diga: “I hereby certify that the present document is an authentic copy of
the diploma granted by the University (or College, or Institute, or School) of (name and place) and the
signatures that appear on the document are duly authorized".

3. Haga certificar la firma del Notario por el County Clerk o el Registrar of Deeds, según sea exigido en el
condado donde ejerce el notario.

4. Obtenga la certificación internacional de la Secretaría de Estado de Estado donde se encuentra la


escuela. Sólo entonces el documento está listo para ser legalizado por el Consulado.

5. Traiga personalmente el documento al Consulado o envíelo por correo. El costo de cada legalización es
US$ 1.00 si usted tiene la nacionalidad peruana y de US$ 30.00 si es extranjero.

Si hace el trámite por correo, envíe el documento junto con un Money Order por US$ 1.00 (por cada uno)
a la orden de “Consulate of Peru” y un sobre de correo prepagado con el nombre y la dirección del

CONSULAR CERTIFICATIONS FOR DIPLOMAS AND TRANSCRIPTS

If you have studied in the United States of America and wish to have your documents recognized by the
Peruvian education authorities, universities, schools or other institutions, you need to legalize your
transcripts and diplomas.

Procedure
In order to obtain the authentication of your document please follow every step of the procedures.

1. The document must have the School, College or University’s stamp and the signature of the Principal or
Registrar of indicating place and date of issuing.

2. Notarize documents: For transcripts: the notary public of the school, high school or university must
write a note on the reverse of the document's copy indicating the following: “I hereby certify that this is
an official transcript and the signatures are authorized.” For diplomas: the notary public of the school,
high school or university must write a note on the reverse of the document indicating the following: “I
hereby certify that the present document is an authentic copy of the diploma granted by the University (or
College, or Institute, or School) of (name and place) and the signatures that appear on the document are
duly authorized".

3. Then, obtain the certification of the Notary’s commission by the County Clerk or the Registrar of Deeds
and finally, obtain the international certification of the Secretary of State. Only then, the document is
ready for a consular legalization. Its cost is $ 1.00 if you are a Peruvian citizen and $ 30.00 if you are a
foreigner.

4. You can obtain the consular legalization by bringing it personally to the Consulate or by mail. If you do
it by mail, send the document along with a Money Order for $ 1.00 or $ 30.00 and a prepaid mail
