Estimados alumnos de geof sica, durante los d as 13 y 14 de marzo se realizar a en el auditorio Empreudec, de la Vicerrector a de Investigaci on y Desarrollo de nuestra Universidad,

un importante Coloquio sobre aspectos geof sicos de terremotos y volcanes. Este Coloquio tiene por objeto presentar las investigaciones que se est an realizando en el pa s, y poder discutir estos temas frente a los alumnos de geolog a y geof sica de nuestra casa de estudio. Por este medio queremos invitar a todos los estudiantes de los u ltimos a nos de la carrera, a participar libremente del Coloquio, previa inscripci on via email a bataille@udec.cl. El prop osito de la inscripci on es la de controlar la participaci on en el evento. Con esta inscripci on tendr an derecho a un cuaderno con los resumenes para tomar apuntes, y una credencial, con la que podr an participar libremente. Adjunto el programa, que cuenta con 37 presentaciones, por 22 investigadores (7 de UdeC, 7 de U. de Chile, 3 del GFZ Alemania, 2 de la U. Cat olica del Norte, 1 de la U. de San Juan Argentina, 1 del Sernageomin) y 15 de estudiantes de pre y post-grado (7 de UdeC, 5 de U. de Chile, y 3 de Sernageomin/UdeC) Por respeto a los que vienen de Alemania y no saben castellano, es que el idioma propuesto para las presentaciones es ingl es. Sin embargo, es posible que algunas presentaciones sean en castellano. El jueves est a dedicado a Terremotos, el viernes en la ma nana a Volcanes, y en la tarde a las presentaciones de tesis de pre y post-grado, tanto de estudiantes de la UdeC como de la U. de Chile. El almuerzo durante ambos d as ser a en el Casino de Los Patos, donde tendr an la oportunidad de conversar con los participantes. A modo de facilitar la participaci on de estudiantes de la U. de Chile, y el intercambio de ideas con los estudiantes de la U. de Concepci on, es que se les solicita su cooperaci on (en la medida que puedan), para alojar a los estudiantes que vienen de Santiago. Entiendo que para ellos ser a un placer poder compartir alojamiento con ustedes. Para coordinar este alojamiento, es que Francisco Garc a (franciscogarcia@udec.cl), estudiante de Geolog a se ha ofrecido como coordinador.
