En caso de solicitar la devolucin de un saldo a favor, an existiendo un curso en el que se pueda matricular, el valor se recalcular de acuerdo con el nmero de cursos efectivamente cursados y se les restar el valor de un curso adicional a la tarifa vigente. 2. Se realizar devolucin del 80% del valor pagado si la persona se retira por motivos de fuerza mayor causa (incapacidad mdica respaldada o motivos laborales con carta de la empresa) y presenta la respectiva solicitud antes de transcurrir el 20% de las horas de clase. 3. 4. Para devoluciones originadas por solicitud del participante se descontar el valor de la comisin si el pago fue mediante tarjeta dbito o crdito. Saldos a favor 1. Si el participante solicita la suspensin del curso, para retomarlo posteriormente, y ha transcurrido menos del 20% de las horas de clase y para ello tiene una justa causa (incapacidad mdica, motivos laborales con carta de la empresa, traslados de ciudad por fuerza mayor), se le autoriza el 100% del valor pagado como saldo a favor. 2. Si el participante solicita la suspensin del curso, para retomarlo posteriormente, despus de transcurrir el 20% de las horas de clase pero menos del 30% de las mismas y para ello tiene una justa causa (incapacidad mdica, motivos laborales con carta de la empresa, traslados de ciudad por fuerza mayor), se le aprobar un saldo a favor por un valor del 80% de lo pagado. 3. Despus de transcurrir el 30% o ms de las horas de clase, no se aceptarn suspensiones de curso ni se otorgarn saldos a favor. Derechos de los estudiantes Usted, como estudiante del Programa de Espaol para Extranjeros, tiene derecho a: 1. Recibir explicaciones claras sobre los contenidos, objetivos, logros y formas de evaluacin del curso. 2. Asistir clases amenas y libres de tensin, en las que la conversacin sea el elemento fundamental. 3. Recibir clases en espaol, con excepcin de la lectura de los Compromisos Acadmicos el primer da de clases. 4. Que las clases inicien y terminen a la hora indicada. Clases de 2 horas: duracin mnima de 1 hora y 50 minutos, sin descanso. Clases de cuatro horas: duracin mnima de 3 horas y 40 minutos con un descanso de 20 minutos. 5. Que el profesor d la respectiva realimentacin a su proceso de aprendizaje. Para esto se cuenta con asesora constante durante el curso, adems de una hora de discusin formal al final de este. (Es deber del estudiante asistir a esta sesin) 6. Que las evaluaciones se lleven a cabo bajo los siguientes parmetros: a. Evaluacin escrita: un examen final del 30% y un seguimiento del 70%, hecho en clase con mnimo 4 actividades (tareas, exmenes cortos, proyectos, ensayos). b. Evaluacin oral: por lo menos 1 actividad evaluativa. Sin embargo, si el profesor lo considera conveniente, se pueden presentar ms evaluaciones orales. c.Tanto la nota oral como la escrita se dan en nmeros, entre 1.0 y 5.0. Para aprobar el curso, el participante debe obtener en ambas evaluaciones tanto en la evaluacin escrita como en la oral una nota igual o mayor que 3.0.

Tener un compaero de conversacin con quien practicar el espaol, previa solicitud del servicio. 11. Participar como asistente en clases de alguno de los pregrados que ofrece la universidad (mximo 2 cursos), previa solicitud. 12. Participar en las actividades extracurriculares organizadas por la Coordinacin Acadmica del programa. 13. Participar de las actividades culturales y acadmicas de la Universidad: exposiciones, ciclos de cine, conversatorios, conferencias, etc. (programacin disponible en la pgina web: www.eafit.edu.co/agenda). 14. Recibir orientacin en asuntos referentes a su acomodacin en la ciudad: bsqueda de alojamiento, trmites legales, apertura de cuentas bancarias, entre otras. 15. Recibir primeros auxilios en el campus universitario en caso de emergencia y ser remitido a la entidad prestadora de salud a la que est afiliado el estudiante. Ante cualquier emergencia, puede llamar a la lnea 911, desde telfonos habilitados para ello, ubicados en los bloques 29,31 ,32 ,34 ,38 y cafetera central. Regirse por los reglamentos internos de la Universidad (consultar en http://www.eafit.edu.co/eafitcn/institucional/reglamento o con su profesor). 2. Asistir por lo menos a 30 horas de clase. Faltar a ms de 8 horas causara la cancelacin del curso. Las llegadas tarde y las salidas anticipadas pueden repercutir en faltas de asistencia, lo cual queda a criterio del profesor. 3. Cumplir a cabalidad con las tareas asignadas y dedicar horas extra-clase a reforzar lo aprendido en el curso. 4. Presentar las evaluaciones con seriedad y en las fechas estipuladas por el profesor. Si por fuerza mayor usted no puede presentar la evaluacin en las fechas asignadas, debe avisar con antelacin, si es posible, en la oficina del programa de Espaol para Extranjeros. 5. Portar permanentemente el carn vigente del centro de idiomas. 6. Facilitar la concentracin propia y de sus compaeros de curso, apagando su celular y manteniendo una disposicin adecuada para el correcto desarrollo de la clase. 7. Tener presente que en cada bloque de la Universidad hay unas instrucciones bsicas de cmo actuar en caso de emergencia, rutas de evacuacin y puntos de encuentro al interior del campus. Tmese el tiempo de leerlo. En caso de observar una situacin anormal, dirjase a los telfonos de emergencia y siga las instrucciones. 8. Informar oportunamente al coordinador del programa cualquier anomala que se presente durante el curso. Certificado Entrega de certificado a peticin del estudiante. En este se da constancia del nmero de horas por curso, fechas en que se tomo el curso o cursos y logros acadmicos obtenidos con su respectiva equivalencia con los niveles de suficiencia del Marco Comn Europeo de Referencia. Students' Rights You, as a student of the Spanish program for foreigners, have the right to: 1.Receive clear explanations about the contents, objectives, achievement standards and the course evaluation forms. 2.Attend classes which are enjoyable and free of tension, where conversation is the key element. 3.Receive classes in Spanish, with the exception of the "Academic Commitments" which are read the first day of classes. 4.Classes should start and end on time. 2-hour classes: minimum duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes, without a break. Four-hour classes: minimum duration of 3 hours and 40 minutes with a 20 minute break. 5.That the teacher give you the corresponding feedback to your their learning process. For this there is constant assistance during the course, as well as an hour of formal discussion at the end of the course (it is the student's duty to attend this session). 6.That the evaluations be carried out under the following parameters: a. Written assessment: a final exam worth 30% and a follow-up worth 70% which is made in class with at least 4 activities (homework, short tests, projects, essays). b. Oral assessment: at least 1 evaluative activity. However, if the teacher deems convenient, more oral assessments may occur. c. Both the oral and the written marks are given in numbers, from 1.0 to 5.0. To pass the course, the participant must obtain in both evaluations (written and oral) a mark equal to or greater than 3.0. 7.In case of necessity, to be referred to the tutoring service. 8.That your concerns and comments on the development of the course be addressed and resolved.

You must present your valid card issued by the Language Center. 10.Have a conversation partner with whom to practice Spanish, upon previous request of the service. 11.Join classes from one of the undergraduate programs offered by the University as an auditor (2 courses maximum), upon previous request. 12.Participate in extracurricular activities organized by the Academic Coordination of the program. 13.Participate in the cultural and academic activities of the University: exhibitions, film cycles, talks, conferences, etc. (Program is available on the website: www.eafit.edu.co/agenda). 14.Get guidance in matters concerning your accommodation in the city: search for accommodation, legal formalities, opening of a bank account, among others. 15. Receive First Aid on the University campus in an emergency and be referred to the Health Care Provider with which the student is insured. In any emergency, you may call the 911 line from enabled phones for this purpose in campus, located in blocks 29,31, 32, 34, 38 and central cafeteria. Late arrivals and early departures may cause absences; this is left to the teacher's discretion. 3. Fully comply with assigned homework and devote extra-class hours to reinforce what you have learned in the course. 4. Take the exams seriously and on the dates stipulated by the teacher. If by force majeure you cannot take the exam on the assigned dates, you must notify the Office of the Spanish for Foreigners Program in advance, if possible. 5. Permanently carry the valid ID issued by the Language Centre. 6. Facilitate own concentration and that of your course fellows, by turning off your cell phone and keeping a suitable disposition for the proper development of the class. 7. Keep in mind that in every building there are some basic information on how to act in case of emergency, evacuation routes and meeting points inside the campus. Take the time to read it. If you observe an abnormal situation, go to the emergency phones and follow the instructions. 8. In due course inform the Coordinator of the program about any fault occurring during the course. 9. Receive a Certificate of Studies upon request. It contains the number of hours per course, dates on which the course(s) was(were) taken and the academic standards with their corresponding equivalence with the proficiency levels of the Common European Framework. Balance in Favor and Refunds Policy Refunds 1. A 100% refund will be made only to persons whose course is canceled because it does not meet the minimum number of participants per group, or that the Language Center cancels for any other reason. Who withdraw and request a refund before the start of the course. In case of requesting the refund of a credit balance, even when there is a course in which you can enroll, the value will be recalculated based on the number of courses effectively pursued and the value of an additional course at the current rate will be taken away. 2. An 80% refund will be made if the person withdraws for reasons of force majeure (supported medical disability or labor reasons supported with a company letter) and makes the respective request within the 20 first hours of class. 3. Once the 20% or more of the total hours of the course has elapsed, there will be no refund. 4. For refunds originating on the participant's request, the value of the commission will be deducted if the payment was made by credit or debit card. Balance in Favor 1. If the participant requests the suspension of the course, to resume later, and less than 20% of the total hours of the course has elapsed and (s)he has a valid excuse (medical disability, labor reasons supported with a letter from the company, transfer of city by force majeure), the 100% of the amount paid will be allowed as a credit balance. 2. If the participant requests the suspension of the course, to resume later, after 20% to 30% of the total hours of the course has elapsed and (s)he has a valid excuse (medical disability, labor reasons supported with a letter from the company, transfer of city by force majeure), the 80% of the amount paid will be allowed as a credit balance. 3. After 30% of the total hours of the course has elapsed, suspensions of course will not be accepted or balances in favor will not be granted.
