What are “falls from heights”?

These are falls from an area elevated off the
ground. These include stairs, ladders,
scaffolds, bridges, balconies or mezzanines,
cliffs and other high locations. Falls from
heights generally cause more serious injuries
than falls from the same level -- but any fall can
be fatal.

Falls from heights can be caused by slipping or

tripping, or they can simply be a matter of
stepping off the elevated area into thin air.
