Instrucciones Generales:
• Las Guías deben ser leídas detalladamente para la buena
compresión de cada tema.
• Las Tareas solicitadas deben ser entregadas en la fecha específica
indicada y VIA CLASSROOM EN TODOS LOS CASOS, solo
aquellos alumnos que no puedan acceder por problemas de
conectividad a CLASSROOM, deberán notificarlo al profesor e
indicar el medio a utilizar para la entrega de las asignaciones, que
deberá ser siempre el mismo canal en la medida posible (Mail ó
WhatsApp ó Portafolio) para mejorar la coordinación de cada
alumno y garantizar las corrección de cada asignación.
• El horario de atención es el indicado para cada una de las
secciones y agradecemos que puedan asistir en el mismo para

Adjetivos posesivos en inglés
Los adjetivos posesivos en inglés son los que nos ayudan a expresar de
quién es algo o a quién pertenece sea una persona o animal.
Son: my, your, his, her, its, our, your and their.

Cada forma tiene relación con un pronombre personal.

Ejemplos de frases con adjetivos posesivos en inglés

My 
• My son is 6 years old – Mi hijo tiene 6 años
• This is my new room – Esta es mi nueva habitación
Your
• I’m your father – Soy tu padre
• Tom will be your partner in the dance contest – Tom será tu compañero en el
concurso de baile
His
• Barcelona is his hometown – Barcelona es su hogar
• Mark is washing his hands – Mark se está lavando las manos
Her
• Her dress is blue – Su vestido es azul
• It is not her sandwich, it’s my sandwich
Its
That bird has broken its wing – Aquel ave ha roto su ala

Our
• This is our house – Esta es nuestra casa
• That is our classroom – Aquel es nuestro salón de clases
Their
• Do you know if their children go to school? – ¿Sabes si sus hijos van a la escuela?

Posibles confusiones con los adjetivos posesivos en inglés

Por su pronunciación, podemos confundir el adjetivo posesivo de tercera persona its

con la contracción  de pronombre y verbo ser it’s. Si nos fijamos en el sentido de la
frase, tendremos una pista.
• It’s freezing outside – Está helando fuera
• x Its freezing outside – Su helada fuera -> incorrecto
Como vemos, la segunda frase no tiene ningún sentido. Si ponemos atención, no
nos confundiremos.

• When you have children, you are a parent. Cuando tienes hijos,
eres padres
• If you are a male parent, you are a father. Si tu eres el padre
hombre, eres Padre.
• If you are female parent, you are a mother. Si tu eres la Mujer, eres
Madre.
• If one of your children is a boy, he is your son. Si uno de tus hijos es
varón, el es tu hijo.
• If one of your children is a girl, she is your daughter. Si uno de tus
hijos es hembra, el es tu hija.
• When a couple gets married, the man is the husband, and the
woman is his wife. Cuando una pareja se casa, el hombre es el
esposo y la mujer es la esposa.
• A brother and sister both have the same parents. Un Hermano y
hermana tienen los mismos padres

The In-Laws
The in-laws are the members of the family of your spouse (the person you
are married to) or via a marriage in your family. Los suegros son los
miembros de la familia de su cónyuge (la persona con la que está casado) o
mediante un matrimonio en su familia:
• father-in-law: the father of your spouse - suegro: el padre de su cónyuge
• mother-in-law: the mother of your spouse  - suegra: la madre de su cónyuge
• son-in-law: the husband of your daughter  - yerno: el marido de tu hija
• daughter-in-law: the wife of your son - nuera: la esposa de tu hijo
• brother-in-law: the husband of your sister  - cuñado: el marido de tu hermana
• sister-in-law: the wife of your brother - cuñada: la esposa de tu hermano
