el que odiaba a los hombres

Gran infortunio el rey soportaba,
doloroso pesar.
Se sola reunir en secreto su gente:
buscaban remedio, algo que hiciesen
los fuertes guerreros que fin le pusiera
a tan dura desgracia

El acoso de Grndel a odos lleg
del intrpido gauta,
vasallo de Hglak.
 El momento lleg.
Al pie de las peas
flotaba la nave;
animosos los hombres
saltaron a bordo.
Se arrollaban las olas,
mar contra arena.
Los guerreros pusieron
adentro del barco
magnficas piezas,
brillantes pertrechos. saltaron los wedras con mucha premura,
Hicironse al mar,
viaje emprendieron
en recio navo.
Por el viento impulsado
el barco avanz
de espumas cubierto
lo mismo que el ave
y al tiempo debido, un da despus,
el curvo navo
lleg a su destino
y los hombres de mar
divisaron la costa, altas montaas,
buen litoral.
Acabse el viaje
a travs del estrecho.
Del leo del agua
atracronlo luego;
rechinaban las cotas
y arneses de guerra.
Dieron gracias a Dios,
pues qusoles dar
tan feliz travesa.
