Ventajas

Tener un sistema donde el spyware y los virus no son un problema (no existen) Un sistema harto estable (no hay pantallazos azules) Tienes un escritorio 3D, bsqueda en el escritorio (a la google desktop), widgets para el desktop y ms. La nueva versin de openSUSE se libera cada ocho meses, no hay necesidad de esperar 5 o mas aos como con Vista.

Ventajas

No hay necesidad de comprarlo es gratis (lo bajas de la web y ya) No hay necesidad de comprar una suite ofimatica cara incluye Open Office. No necesitas actualizar tu hardware: openSUSE funcionara razonablemente bien incluso con mquinas de 2 o 3 aos de edad. Usamos estandares abiertos y somos compatibles con las plataformas cerradas.

Posibles problemas

Hay ms juegos y aplicaciones para Windows. La gente usualemnte extraa: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Office y juegos de 3D. Existencia de multiples drivers para windows: Nosotros soportamos ms hardware out of the box que nadie, pero en Windows existen drivers para virtualmente todo hardware. Todo el mundo conoce alguien que sepa de windows. El problema viene que no todo el mundo tiene alguien a la mano que sepa de linux.

La filosofia es: Has una nica ocasin tu paquete, y nosotros te daremos un paquete para la distribucin que desees. A partir de una misma descripcin (es decir, un SPEC de RPM) obtendras paquetes tanto RPM como DEB (es decir, paquetes para Mandriva, Fedora, openSUSE, xUbuntu, Debian) sin que tu te canses o configures nada. Todo disponible gratis para todos, con una interfaz web o una interfaz de linea de comandos. https://build.opensuse.org/
