Abbreviations and glossary:

(US terms)
Ch = Chain
St = Stitch
Sk = Skip
Sc = Single crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Hdc = Half double crochet
Slst = Slip stitch
Yoslst = Yarn over slip stitch
Yarn over insert hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop (three loops on hook).
Pull first loop through the second and third loops on the hook.
Pcst = Picot stitch
Insert hook into st, yarn over pull up loop, yarn over pull through one loop, yarn
over pull through one loop again, yarn over pull through one loop, yarn over pull
through 2 loops. Push the chain 3 back so that the bump will be on the right side of
the jumper.
Yuhdc = Yarn under half double crochet
Place yarn in front of hook, insert hook into stitch yarn over pull up a loop. ( 3 loops
on hook) yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook.
Third loop
The 3rd loop is the loop created by the yarn over or yarn under in hdc, yuhdc and
yoslst. The third loop is on the side of these stitches. When you work into the third
loop, the front and back loops of the stitch are pushed forward. This creates a
pretty braid-like row of v shapes.

Pattern Notes
Chain one at the beginning of rows/rounds does not
count as a stitch.
Chain two at the beginning of rows counts as a dc.

Gauge Swatch
Ch 24 with 5mm hook
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook. Sc in each st to end. (23)
Row 2: Ch 1 turn *sc 1 pcst 1 repeat from * 10 times. Sc in last st. (23)
Row 3: Ch 1 turn hdc (23).
Row 4:Ch 1 turn yuhdc (23).
Row 5: Ch 1 turn sc in third loop (23).
Repeat rows 2 to row 5 three times.

Gauge 16 st x 15 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm

Collar
**Start with 5.5mm hook**

Leave a long tail for weaving in at the end. Make a slip knot on hook.
Ch (10, 12, 14, 16)
Row 1: Yoslst in the back hump of the second ch from hook, Yoslst in the back hump
of each ch to end of row. (9, 11, 13, 15)
Row 2: Ch 1 turn, Yoslst in the third loop of each st.(9, 11, 13, 15)
Repeat row 2 (47, 55, 63, 71) times.
You should have(49, 57, 65, 73) rows of yoslst. There should be (24, 28, 32, 36)
rows of vs on each side of collar.
The collar should measure (26 cm x 4 cm, 31 cm x 5 cm, 36 cm x 6 cm, 41 cm x 6 cm)

Joining Collar
At the end of the last row turn work. Insert hook
under the third loop of the first st then through the
first ch on the other end of the collar. Slst. Repeat
for each st lining stitches up. (9, 11, 13, 15)
Flip collar so that the seam of slst is on the inside.
The right side of the collar should now have (25, 29,
33, 37) rows of vs.

Body
**Switch to 5mm hook**

Round 1: With right side facing up, ch 1, hdc around collar placing one st for each
row of yoslst in the collar. Slst to first hdc of round. (50, 58, 66, 74)
Round 2: Ch 1 turn, sc in third loop of each st. Slst to first sc of round. (50, 58, 66,
74)
Round 3: Ch 1 do not turn. *Sc in first st, pcst in next st repeat from * (24, 28, 32,
36) times. Slst to first sc of round. (50, 58, 66, 74)
Round 4: Ch 1 turn, hdc (1, 2, 1, 1) in first st. Hdc (48, 56, 64, 72). Hdc (1, 2, 1, 2) in

Skirt
The skirt is created by making a grid of dc and ch 2
boxes. The ruffles are then attached separately by
crocheting along the ch 2 sp of every second row.

* Ch 2 at beginning of rows counts as a dc *

*Ch 1 at beginning of rows does NOT count as a stitch *

Row (27, 31, 37, 41): Ch 1 turn, slst (12, 14, 16, 18). Ch 1 sc 1 in same st.
*Ch 2 sk 2 sc 1 * repeat from* (13, 15, 18, 20) times. (43, 49, 58, 64)
Row (28, 32, 38, 42): Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 2) turn, sk 2 * dc 1 ch 2 sk 2
repeat from * (12, 14, 17, 19) times. Dc in last sc of previous row. (14, 16,
19, 21) boxes.
