The Jose Leonardo Ortiz district faces a big problem related to the accumulation of
garbage in its streets. The lack of effective measures for solid waste management has
led to the destruction of clandestine dumps, which create a bad appearance for the
population and diminish their quality of life.
This problem not only represents a risk to public health, but also has a negative impact
on the environment. Accumulated garbage can be a source of soil, water and air
contamination, and can attract animals and insects that spread diseases.
The underlying causes of this problem are diverse and complex, including the lack of
environmental education and the lack of adequate infrastructure for solid waste
management. In addition, there is little participation of citizens in the proper
management of garbage.
To solve this problem, the commitment of local authorities, civil society, and citizens
in general is necessary. It is important to implement effective measures for the
collection and final disposal of solid waste, as well as for environmental education and
raising awareness of the population about the importance of proper waste
management.
problema.
