RESUMEN
El suelo forma parte importante en la vida al ser la base de esta, tanto para los humanos
como para las miles de especies que habitan en él, aportando diversidad de funciones para
el mantenimiento de los ecosistemas; desde ser el lugar donde se recicla la materia
orgánica, hasta el sustrato donde se edifican las obras civiles. No obstante el suelo es un
recurso no renovable a escala humana, pues los tiempos para recuperar su degradación son
muy largos. Muchas veces la degradación de estos, se da por actividades antropogenicas
realizadas en suelos que no tienen vocación para soportarla. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior,
la caracterización del suelo es muy importante para determinar el uso potencial que se le
puede dar a este, ya sea uso agrícola, uso ganadero, base para construcciones, entre otros.
En el presente artículo se determinaron las propiedades físicas, químicas y biológicas en
varias muestras de la finca San Antonio, Ariguani, en la cual determinamos aspectos como:
pH, CIC, Materia Orgánica, Porosidad, entre otras. Para determinar si el uso que se le da a
este suelo es el adecuado para su vocación original.

ABSTRACT
The soil is an important part of life as it is the basis of it, both for humans and for the
thousands of species that inhabit it, providing a diversity of functions for the maintenance
of ecosystems; from being the place where organic matter is recycled, to the substrate
where civil works are built. However, the soil is a non-renewable resource on a human
scale, since the times to recover its degradation are very long. Many times the degradation
of these is due to anthropogenic activities carried out on soils that do not have the vocation
to support it. Taking into account the above, the characterization of the soil is very
important to determine the potential use that can be given to it, be it agricultural use,
livestock use, base for constructions, among others. In this article, the physical, chemical
and biological properties were determined in several sample from the San Antonio farm,
Ariguani, in which we determined aspects such as: pH, CEC, Organic Matter, Porosity,
among others. To determine if the use given to this land is adequate for its original
vocation.
