FUNCIÓN EXPONENCIAL
Definición: Función Exponencial
Si b > 0 y b ≠ 1, definimos la función exponencial f : ℝ→ ℝ+
como: f (x ) = 𝑏 𝑥 , x∈ℝ

• La función f es Creciente.

Ejemplos
Grafique en un mismo plano las funciones 𝑓(𝑥)= 2x y 𝑔(𝑥)= 4x .
Resolución:
Notamos que en ambos casos las funciones tienen base mayor a uno,
de lo cual deducimos que la gráficas deben ser crecientes.

Propiedades (Gráficas exponenciales)
Considerando conocida la gráfica de 𝑓(𝑥) = 3𝑥 , podemos obtener:
• 𝑔 𝑥 = 3𝑥+1 = 𝑓(𝑥 + 1), la cual es la gráfica de f desplazada una
unidad a la izquierda.
• ℎ 𝑥 = 3𝑥 − 2 = 𝑓 𝑥 − 2, la cual es la gráfica de f desplazada dos
unidades hacia abajo.

LOGARITMO EN LOS REALES
Dados dos números reales 𝑎 𝑦 𝑏, tales que 𝑏 > 0; 𝑏 ≠ 1 𝑦 𝑎 > 0, existe
un único número real 𝑥 que cumple 𝑏 𝑥 = 𝑎.
DEFINICIÓN DE LOGARITMO
El logaritmo de un número real positivo 𝑁, en la base 𝑏 𝑏 > 0, 𝑏 ≠ 1
es el exponente 𝑥 al cual se debe elevar la base para obtener el número
𝑁, es decir
𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 N = x ↔ bx = N, N > 0, b > 0 ∧ b ≠ 1, x ∈ ℝ

Aplicando la definición de logaritmo

El cologaritmo de un número se define como el logaritmo de la inversa

Es aquel sistema de logaritmo en el cual la base a emplear es el
número trascendente e, definido por el siguiente límite:
