2. La arepa
Es una comida que forma parte de los platos típicos venezolanos. Se puede hacer con masa de maíz, o
con harina precocida, pero, es un alimento que se degusta en todo el territorio nacional.
Diablos Danzantes de la población de Yare, en el estado Miranda, deleitan a todos los asistentes con
motivo de hacerle honor al santísimo sacramento.
Aquellos que han realizado promesas son los encargados de vestirse de diablos respetando las

It is a food that is part of the typical Venezuelan dishes. It can be made with corn dough, or with precooked
flour, but it is a food that is tasted throughout the national territory.
The liquiliqui and espadrilles is the quintessential national costume for Venezuelan men. In the neighboring
country to Venezuela they also tend to use it, that is, in Colombia.
4. Carnivals of Carúpano
Carúpano is a very rich Venezuelan region due to its folklore. Some carnivals are held here that attract
thousands of people, due to the extraordinary celebration that it means, and because of its dances, music and
other representations that are performed.
It is a festival of Christian origin that commemorates the birth of Saint John the Baptist. It takes place
between June 23 and 25. These days the African drums resonate.
In Maracaibo the date of the Chinita is celebrated, which consists of a celebration in which there is a lot of
noise and lasts for ten days. In this festival, there are dances, music, games and folk stories.
Dancing devils from the town of Yare, in the state of Miranda, delight all the attendees on the occasion of
honoring the Blessed Sacrament.
Those who have made promises are in charge of dressing up as devils, respecting certain hierarchies, and
dancing to the rhythm of the music. With red costumes and colorful masks, the Diablos Danzantes de Yare
fulfill their purpose of honoring their church.
Being a catholic country, in Venezuela there are countless festivities linked to the church, nevertheless
on June 13 is celebrated the day of San Antonio de Padua but what makes this party really traditional
and outstanding, is the dance that takes place in it: the Tamunangue.
In the state of Lara, the faithful who are fulfilling promises thank San Antonio for his generosity, while
dancing to the rhythm of the drums, evidencing the perfect blend of European and African customs in
a single ritual.
