“ACRONYMS”
1) ADSL Asymmetric Digital: The ADSL "Asymetric Digital Subscriber Line" is a DSL
line technology that consists of the analog transmission of digital data through a
telephone line that carries a symmetric pair of copper. The ADSL allows Internet
access using broadband, which provides a speed higher than a modem connection in
data transfer, since the modem prevents voice service while data service is in use.
4) GHz: Gigahertz: In the field of computing, gigahertz refers to the speed of the central
processing unit (CPU) of a computer (computer) and is formed by the union of the
compositional element giga (which refers to "one billion times" ) and the term hertz (a
unit of frequency equivalent to one cycle per second). A gigahertz, therefore, is a
multiple of this unit of measurement of frequency.
5) LAN Local Area Network: It is the structure that has a characteristic pattern, which
allows its various components to be linked. From this meaning, one can speak of
different types of networks. These networks link computers that are in a small
physical space, such as an office or building. The interconnection is done through a
cable or waves.
6) Modem MOdulator/DEModulator: It is a device that converts digital signals into
analog, or vice versa, to be able to be transmitted through telephone lines, coaxial
cables, optical fibers and microwaves; connected to a computer, it allows
communication with another computer by telephone.
8) RAM Random Access Memory: It is the main memory of the computer, where
programs and data reside, on which read and write operations can be carried out.
10) VGA Video Graphics Array: Is used to refer to the color system created by IBM and
is a port that uses a 15-pin connector, usually located on the back or side of a
computer. VGA is the standard interface for connecting a monitor or projector to
computers.
4) A more powerful CPU has multiple cores (two or four, instead of one) and more
speed (measured in gigahertz “GHz”).
5) If you are connected to a “Lan local area network”, you may already be connected
to the Internet.
Internet.
9) Typical “RGB” input devices are color video and television cameras, image
scanners, and digital cameras.
10)Virtually all computers include a “VGA” output.
