Vector functions are given in physical applications such as electric field and
magnetic field. The scalar products of these vector functions appear regularly, with
another vector such as the distance or length of a path. When such a product is
added over a path length, where both the magnitudes and the directions change,
that sum becomes an integral called the line integral.
