THE YEARS IN ENGLISH

LOS AÑOS EN INGLÉS

Los años en inglés generalmente se leen separando los dígitos de dos en dos.

1945 = (19/45) nineteen forty – five

1815 = (18 /15) eighteen fifteen
1999 = (19/99) nineteen ninety- nine
1972 = (19/72) nineteen seventy – two
1652 = (16/52) sixteen fifty-two
1923 = (19 /23) nineteen twenty-three

Otros años que tienen el cero de por medio antes del último número se leen de esta forma:

1904 = (19 / 0 / 4) nineteen oh four El cero se remplaza con la palabra oh

1807 = (18 / 0 / 7) eighteen oh seven
1409 = (14 / 0 / 9) fourteen oh nine

En el caso de los años que terminan en 00 se lee con la palabra “hundred” (cientos) al final:

1800 = eighteen hundred

1900 = nineteen hundred
1600 = sixteen hundred
1700 = seventeen hundred

Los años desde el 2000 al 2010 se leen de esta forma:

2001 = Two thousand and one

2003 = Two thousand and three
2004 = Two thousand and four
2005 = Two thousand and five
2007 = Two thousand and seven

Y finalmente a partir del año 2010 hay dos formas de expresar los años:

2011 = Two thousand and eleven / (20/11) Twenty eleven

2021 = Two thousand and twenty-one/ (20/21) Twenty twenty-one
2017 = Two thousand and seventeen / (20/17) Twenty seventeen
2014 = Twenty fourteen / Two thousand and fourteen
