funciones, en forma
correcta.
1. COMPOSICIÓN DE FUNCIONES

1.8 EJEMPLOS DE COMPOSICIÓN DE FUNCIONES
Ejemplo
y g (x)
Sean las funciones:
𝑓 𝑥 = 𝑥 𝑦 𝑔 𝑥 =𝑥−2
Hallar: Dom 𝑓 ∘ 𝑔 𝑥 f (x)
Solución 0 2 x
-2
1) Hallemos el 𝐷𝑜𝑚(𝑓 ∘ 𝑔)
𝑓 ∘ 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑓(𝑔 𝑥 )
Dom(g) = R Dom(f) = [0, ∞[
= 𝑓(𝑥 − 2)
Ejemplo 2
Dadas las funciones: f = {(−2,0),(−1, −4),(3,1),(5, 2)} y
g = {(−2, −1),(0,3),(1, 4),(2,0),(4,5)}
Halle: fog y gof
Solución:
Para hallar fog, debemos conocer previamente el rango de “g” y el dominio de
“f”, así:
Ran(g)={–1, 0, 3, 4, 5} y Dom(f)={–2, –1, 3, 5},
entonces:
Ran( g ) Dom( f ) = {−1,3,5}
Buscamos los pares de “g” y “f” que tengan como segundas y primeras
componentes a: –1, 3, 5, respectivamente. Luego:
(−2, − 1) g (−1, − 4) f → (−2, − 4) f g
(0,3) g (3,1) f → (0,1) f g
(4,5) g (5, 2) f → (4, 2) f g
por lo tanto tenemos: f g = {(−2, −4), (0,1), (4, 2)}
