EXPRESANDO OBLIGACION
negativas de must y have to:
You don't have to tell Lisa. (You can tell her if you want to, but it isn't
necessary)
MUST BE
Analiza cuidadosamente esta situación-ejemplo:
Monica is a very good tennis player, and not many players beat her. But
yesterday she played against Bill and Bill won. So, Bill must be a very
good player (otherwise he wouldn't have won).
1) Lucy, you've been traveling all day. You must be tired.
(= I am sure that you are tired.)
Lucía, has estado viajando todo el día. Debes estar cansada.
2) Your exams are next week. You must be studying very hard right now.
(= I am sure that you are studying.)
Tus exámenes son la semana próxima. Debes estar estudiando mucho ahora.
3) Manuel knows a lot about films. He must like to go to the movies.
(= I am sure he likes to go to the movies.)
CAN'T BE
We went to Roy's house last night and rang the doorbell. There was no
answer. He must have gone out (otherwise he would have answered).
1) The phone rang, but I didn't hear it. I must have been asleep.
Sonó el teléfono pero no lo oi. Debí haberme quedado dormido.
2) I made a lot of noise when I came home. You must have heard me.
Hice mucho ruido cuando llegué a casa. Debes haberme oído.
3) She passed me on the street without speaking. She can't have seen me.
No me debe haber visto.
