Historia

- En 1949 se declaró el estado irlandés como la República de Irlanda. Conserva tres de

sus cuatro provincias la más grande llamada Ulster o Irlanda del Norte pertenece al
Reino Unido. En 1916 Irlanda se independizó por su cuenta de Reino Unido gracias a la
asamblea de Dáil Ériann. Entre 1919 y 1922 fue la guerra de independencia entre el
ejército republicano de Irlanda y el Reino Unido.

Gastronomía

- El ingrediente típico de Irlanda es la patata. • La bebida típica es el café y la cerveza en

especial es whisky y la Guinness. • La comida típica es el boxty. • El pescado más
conocido es el bacalao y el salmón.

Fauna

- Entre los animales típicos de la isla aparte de las aves y del ganado de la zona se
pueden encontrar ciervos rojos en las colinas de connemara martas cibelinas de
hábitos nocturnos, focas grises y nutrias. Las ardillas rojas están bastante más
extendidas que las grises, y los ratones silvestres son los únicos roedores pequeños
autóctonos. Es sorprendente la ausencia casi total de serpientes y anfibios, aunque en
algunos lugares se encuentran sapos

verdes donde pastorea apaciblemente el ganado. Casi toda la isla está cubierta de
