¡Animo!
2. Estructuración (Conceptualización):
Present perfect simple
Form
Positive: I / We / You / They have arrived. He / She / It has arrived.
Negative: I / We / You / They have not arrived. He / She / It has not arrived.
Questions: Have I / we / you / they arrived? Has he / she / it arrived?
Short answers: Yes, I / we / you / they have. Yes, he / she / it has.
No, I / we / you / they haven’t. No, he / she / it hasn’t.
We use the present perfect simple to talk about:
past actions or experiences up to the moment of speaking: I’ve been to America.
past actions or experiences that are still true at the moment of speaking: I’ve always wanted to be a
rock start (I still want to be now).
past actions or experiences with results in the present: What has happened in the kitchen?
Present perfect simple with just, already, before, never, ever, yet.
just to show that something happened a very short time ago.
already in positive sentences to emphasise that something has happened before.
before: in negative sentences to say that this is the first time something has happened.
never: in positive sentences to mean not ever. We often add before to emphasise the sentence.
ever: in questions when we ask Have you ever … to mean at any time in your life.
yet: at the end of questions and negatives to mean until now.
