Greetings Parents and Guardians,

This year is already fully underway, and I am looking forward to working with your

students for the rest of the year! As the students prepare to go off on their own after high

school, it is imperative that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate our

ever increasing digital world. This year, technology will be incorporated into the classroom in

order to give the students an essence of what life will be like post high school. Attached with

this letter is an infographic regarding the importance of practicing positive civil discourse skills

online. As our students have more encounters with others online, it is important that they

know how to properly handle an online conversation with opinions other than their own. This

means remaining respectful, committed to having an open mind, and willing to accept that

there are other opinions that exist beside their own. This infographic details main of the key

steps that students can take to be responsible digital citizens while practicing civil discourse.

There is no better team than teachers and parents/guardians, so if you see anything that you

are concerned about online, please do not hesitate to contact me. Together, we can create an

online environment that is positive, and one where our students are safe and can learn!

Estimados padres y tutores,

¡Este año ya está totalmente en marcha, y espero trabajar con sus estudiantes por el

resto del año! Mientras los estudiantes se preparan para partir solos después de la escuela

secundaria, es imperativo que estén equipados con los conocimientos y habilidades para

navegar en nuestro mundo digital cada vez mayor. Este año, la tecnología se incorporará al aula

para dar a los estudiantes una esencia de cómo será la vida después de la escuela secundaria.

Con esta carta hay una infografía sobre la importancia de practicar habilidades positivas de

discurso civil en línea. A medida que nuestros estudiantes tienen más encuentros con otros en

línea, es importante que sepan cómo manejar adecuadamente una conversación en línea con

opiniones distintas a las suyas. Esto significa permanecer respetuoso, comprometido a tener

una mente abierta y dispuesto a aceptar que existen otras opiniones además de las suyas. Esta

infografía detalla los principales pasos clave que los estudiantes pueden tomar para ser

ciudadanos digitales responsables mientras practican el discurso civil. No hay mejor equipo que

los maestros y los padres / tutores, por lo que si ve algo que le preocupa en línea, no dude en
