I HAVE
Ihave seen the sun in the morning on the hills,
turning the hills and the sky to fire.
I have heard a bird in it´s cage crying for the sky it has lost.
I have touched the grass beside the river,
wet whit spring rain.
I have smelled roses, dead roses in an empty house that no one has visited.
and i have tasted the salt from the sea,alone,at night,on a beach,in a storm.
I have done these things,and these things have made me old.
I have remembered these things,and these memories have made me young.

YO TENGO

He visto el sol de la mañana en las colinas,

convirtiendo las colinas y el cielo en fuego.

He oído un pájaro en su jaula llorando por el cielo que ha perdido.

 He tocado la hierba al lado del río,

mojado con lluvia de primavera.

He olido rosas, rosas muertas en una casa vacía que nadie ha visitado.

y he probado la sal del mar, solo, de noche, en una playa, en una tormenta.

He hecho estas cosas, y estas cosas me han hecho viejo.

He recordado estas cosas y estos recuerdos me han hecho joven.
