Oscar Giunta y su trio llegan esta vez a Colombia en el marco de un nuevo tour
internacional, y con la inmensa alegría y orgullo de presentar al publico
Colombiano su flamante álbum “Apaláp”, registrado en la ciudad de New York en
abril de 2019, en el marco de su tour por USA.
BIO
Quinteto Urbano tuvo una vida de 6 años intensos , 3 discos ( el ultimo “En
Subida”, editado exclusivamente en Europa en 2003 para el sello “Fresh Sound” y
presentado en exclusiva en el festival internacional de jazz de Terrassa,
Barcelona, España , compartiendo cartel y escenario con el Brad Meldhau trio,
Wayne Shorter Quartet, Brandford Marsalis trio, entre otros.
Varias de sus grabaciones reciben nominaciones a los premio Grammy y Latin
Grammy Award , entre las que se destacan los álbumes “Luis Salinas y amigos
en España” junto a Luis Salinas, y “Soundances” junto al trompetista Diego Urcola.
OSCAR GIUNTA es considerado por sus pares, critica y publico como el baterista
numero 1 de Argentina en el ámbito del jazz y la música popular de esta parte
del mundo.
Referente en este ambito desde hace mas de 25 años, sus conciertos junto al
Wayne Shorter Quartet , Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Dave Liebman, Danilo
Perez, John Patitucci , Eddie Daniels, Philip Catherine,Lalo Schiffrin , con Billy
Cobham, Paquito De Rivera y tantisimos otros -, se han transformado en grandes
hitos de la musica Argentina hace ya muchos años.

“Some time Miles said: "no drummer no band", that is, "without a drummer a band
does not exist" translated to Buenos Aires Slang. With the years more and more I
realize how successful this observation is. In 2003 I was given the chance to
record a CD in Buenos Aires and one of the things that gave me a lot of confidence
to be able to make a successful recording in my hometown is that I had a drummer,
Oscar Giunta.
I had heard very good about Oscar here in the USA and I knew he came from a
family of very good musicians. But finally we played a summer together in an
improvised Jam in Uruguay, which is how jazz musicians really know each other.
That night I realized that what was being spoken was true.
